GREAT! CATCHY TUNES!I will never get bored of listening to this CD. . it has the best tunes ever. . . so catchy! It is really their best work so far!.
Worth The Extra Money for DVD...
I had only heard a few of Dashboard's songs. I bought this CD rather blindly. . . pretty impressed, I must say. Then, I saw the DVD version in the store, and it had Dashboard, covering R. E. M. 's Automatic for The People, with Michael Stipe on the DVD. Unrefuseable offer.
So I get in the car. I listened to it, stunned. It was just fantastic, and it's one of my favorite albums. There are only a few albums I can listen to the whole way through, and this is one of them.
When I got home, I watched the DVD. I was amazed yet again with how talented Carraba and the band actually were at covering another band, especially such a great one. And then, at the end, Stipe covered Hands Down, and sings with Carraba, and it's well. . . pretty freakin' sweet. So five stars. Most Definitely. Hands Down.
Absolutely great! Yet, not better than forerunners
Honestly though, I do believe that his forerunners are better. Chris Carraba brought out another great CD. He got more instrumental and moved away from the acoustic side of things. "Bend and Not Break" is an excellent track; it features a great intro, while "Hands Down" is the actual Radio Release from the 'So Impossible' EP's acoustic version. I do think though that this CD certainly does belong to my favorites!.
YAWN, get over it
Sure, it's better than a lot of the cd's out there, in fact after returning 3 cds I would say this is the best one of what I got, but all the songs are so similar you might as well just get one single. I must say, after hearing so much about this band, I was dissapointed to hear such a mundane set of songs.
I may not be easy to please, but I expected more being a fan of their type of music. The vocals put me to sleep and the repetitive tune is not much better.
A lot of people seem to like it though, so I recommend listening to a couple of their (non-soundtrack) songs and then choosing whether or not to buy it.
simply put, I found it boring.
good to relax to
i think it is good to chill to, but most of the songs are slow, so dont expect anything very "rockin". when i first heard the song "hands down" i fell in love with the song, and when i bought the album, i was surprised that the tracks were alot slower than its first track. chris cabarra is a very good songwriter& the meodies are very pretty. the dvd is pretty cool too. it has the guy from rem &they do some duets. its cool to see old& new come together. overall i give this album ****.
