His Best Album Very time appropriate themes. Love this new album. And the concert was fabulous as well. Sure wish Chris would tour in the US.
Don't buy this CD! Instead buy the DVD!
The Same Sun - so beautiful a song!
2. This CD is great but you should buy the DVD! There are songs included in the DVD version but not included in this CD, and believe me, they are so good that you definitely don't want to miss them at all cost! I don't quite understand why these two songs were not selected in this CD, as I found they are the best two in the DVD version!
1. Borderline - so touching! The original studio version can't compare with this live version! After so many years of performing career, Chris' voice has become so beautiful when he sung this song, especially in his falsetto and the transition! I am a guy but still this song almost made me cry everytime I listen to it!
So if you have this CD, please also buy the DVD! .
who spoiled me?
Today we have constructed a village world where in each of us wonder what corner he/she locates/occures. . Me from the 3rd world is probably some where on the other side of the moon that is not visible to earth dwelers. . . but from that hiden side I have been hearing Chris singing that used tyo make me ask who is he any way? A spritual crusader? aging star? cult brewer? a reformist? an educator? an healer? Can't say but then the days came when in Vancouver I was at the peak of my youth listening around the clock 'man on the line. . . lady in red is dancing with me. . . . turned me into a split person. . . . What the hell this singer wants his listeners to feel and do? He can not mainpulate any ones spirit. . . to the extent that a lady in red be watched dancing deep in a winter night in your drawing room. . . and when you turn on the lights you find nothing. . . . ! What review should one study to know what is all this about? My own feelings that Chris aroused knowing him not meeting him never say but of the fact that music have power but all this power is activated transmitted controlled and manipulated by the very singer. . . . Now U folks tell me what for a musician or singer be manipulating some ones feelings soul and or spirit? Just to prove that he is the only one the best???But again it is against all the theories and practices of Freedom. . . . nodoubt he who would like to manipulate others influence others must him/herslef experienced all this. . . and to get free from such a status he/she must have been opting to target others people. . . . . . . . but how come such person be hitting his target on the other side of the moon? This is charisma? non with a zinger or music man it is some thing magical? Black magic or white magic or other magic? But magic is itself nothing but the state of being influenced leting some one to influence you. . . No problem when he get a few more years older then one day as a senior citizen having done with all his stuff, rums, drums he will come in clear to every one. . . . . . . . . . . . . !And then the jury and the judge will tell me too "oh Mohammad you were spoiled by both Chris and Jenefer Rusk. . . "I known that For years and years I wanted to go and live in Vancouver because every one would make me believe then that B. C is beautiful. . . and when I availed the very chance to enjoy the beuaty of BC there emerged Chris signing the love songs. . . . . . . . . . . It means to enjoy nature one got to let Chris accompny too? What the hell finally came out of all this . . . . he did not let me stay Mohammadan or Richard the LionHeart. . . . but a lover of mankind. . . . . . . . . till I could exercies push ups. . . . now in 50's I feel he spoiled me alot. . . doing no push up . . . he would suggest just watch others doing it. . . . but I can not forget that the sweet lord is watching. . . . . . . . . . . . O!Chris . . . . you and Jenefer Rusk has soiled me alot. . . Happy Canada Day to you two.

30 Years On.
"Freedom", his 14th studio album finds him tapping into what he does best, tell dramatic tales of love and loss, war and courage, the tensions between family members. "The Road To Freedom" marks De Burgh's 30th year in the music business, and it is a welcome return to form. This album is more in the vein of "The Getaway" and "Into The Light". The songs hold together very well, with little filler at all. This release stands above his last four uneven albums--2002's "Timing Is Everything", 1999's "Quiet Revolution", 1994's "This Way Up" and 1992's "Power Of Ten". It begins with an almost Les Miserables/Phantom of the Opera feel with the dramatic and somber opener "When Winter Comes" which melds into "The Road To Freedom" and then to "Snow Is Falling". The opening trio is reminiscent of his earlier trilogies found on "Into The Light", "The Getaway" and "Crusader". His first single, "The Words 'I Love You'" is a great lead-off with it's uptempo beat and lyrics examining the relationship between a father/son and religion/faith. "Five Past Dreams" contains a musical nod to the classic "Lady In Red" from 1986's "Into The Light" and "The Journey" references "Don't Pay The Ferryman" from 1982's "The Getaway". De Burgh also uses Latin influences on "What You Mean To Me" and the excellent "Read My Name". Also evident is his appreciation of other adult contemporary singers like Vanessa Williams because the verses on "Here For You" sound exactly in the time signature and tone of her 1992 hit "Save The Best For Last". All in all, De Burgh fans should enjoy this release as I think it's probably his best since 1988's "Flying Colours". However, new fans should start with "The Getaway", "Spanish Train & Other Stories" and "Man On The Line".
