Greatest Lyrics Ever
"We jumped into a car;
Away we started rollin';
I asked "how much you pay for this?";
She said "nothin' man, it's stolen. . "

if this is the only album you have/want, you're missing out
By far their most popular, thank you "punk Rock Girl" and "Smokin. . ", this in no way matches other releases. I personally think it's one of their most uneven; the songs are either classic, "PRG" "I walk the. . . " "Stuart", or instantly forgettable: "I against Osborne," "Howard Beware," even "Smokin. . . is kinda weak. Makes you wander why they didn't use some of the b-sides from it's EP on the album. Don't get me wrong, it's classic DM, i'm just trying to give some of the more unsung records some shine.

The cover says it all
However, this album is a necessity for any music lover. No one attributes their style to the Milkmen, and I can't recall any interview in which a pop-culture icon lists them as an influence. I have to admit that some tracks on this album are rather subtle, perhaps requiring an acquired taste. But after a few listens it's hard to believe that the dissonant tunings and ironic lyrics are anything short of near genius. On the other hand, maybe it was just a few of guys banging away on used instruments with a tape recorder and a case of beer. In any case, this album is fairly demonstrative of The Dead Milkmen and remains a diamond in their rough. .
