Obscene price gouging on an otherwise great CD
In fact, it's one of my all-time favorite CD's that i've ever heard/owned. I love this album. But the fact that people are capitalizing on the rarity of this limited release and the current re-energized popularity of the band just baffles me. Not too long ago, you could find this for at most 18 bucks around here. Now it's upwards of almost 80 dollars, even topping out just short of a hundred bucks? You HAVE to be kidding me.

Best deftones album
"passenger" contains vocals by maynard keenan. This album has more atmosphere and is more mellow than previous albums by the deftones, and its a great new step in their evolution.

Deftones' finest moment
It was kind of an aquired taste for me, but once I got into them, I was in for good. I love the deftones. I have every CD and DVD. This is the best one. Their experience from the past and their professionalism shines through like a diamond on this CD. Alot of artists when they attempt a dynamic CD like this, it falls flat. Oh boy, not this time. The other version of the CD with "Back To School" is pretty good, but I thought "Back to School", although a great song, didn't really fit with the album. Pink Maggit, the reprise version of that song is better. This version of White Pony is simply amazing. Holy crap if you haven't heard "Boy's Republic" GET THIS ALBUM!!!! Probably one of their best, but almost unknown songs. It's a really great song.
Here's to a legendary CD from the Deftones
WHITE PONY FOREVER!!!!!!!!!.

The Boy's Republic vs. Back to School (mini maggot)
"the boy's republic" has the moody dark ambient kind of sound to it that blends in perfectly with the rest of white pony, while "back to school" which is actually kind of a louder almost rap like remix of "pink maggot", should belong on an album like adrenaline. I highly recomend buying the special edition of white pony w/ "the boy's republic" instead of buying the (new version) white pony w/ "back to school". also, "the boy's republic" is definitely one of my 3 favorite songs on this album along w/ "change" and "korea" and ends the album better than "back to school" begins it. so forget about going back to school and celebrate because this is the boys republic!.

Must listen!
With this effort, the deftones have produced an album of incredible intensity that keeps the listener entranced from beginning to end. Though not as heavy and hard as their previous albums, White Pony seems to be the most thought-out musically. The collaboration with Maynard James Keenan (of Tool and A Perfect Circle) on "Passenger" is particularly good. The album is full of rich melodies and harmonies, but the deftones are not afraid to be in-your-face hard rockers either, and they maintain a balance of the two on this album. The enhanced CD version contains all sorts of goodies, from personal band pictures and writings to internet links and an interactive deftones game which can keep you amused for hours (trust me, I know). All in all, I have come to like this album as much as their others, if not more, and that says something because I think "Around the Fur" is a fantastic record.
