John Denver Greatest Hits - Nostalgic Classic I loved this album when it originally came out. John Denver Greatest Hits - Nostalgic Classic. Everyone was grabbing their guitars and playing along. Denver's voice in these classic hits is stunning. The only downside is the old analog technology it was recorded in. As soon as the first note plays, you can tell it lacks the clarity of a digitally remastered album or a newly recorded album. Still, it is filled with great songs by a great artist.
Moving and Inspirational.
John Denver was a great poet and songwriter as well as a great musician. This is a wonderful collection of hits from John Denver. These are just a sample from his library of classics.
This is a great CD to bring along on a camping trip or while sitting around a campfire with friends. If you enjoy acoustic music or enjoy the "great outdoors", this is the album for you.
Great!
Even though I missed a few tracks, I loved it. I loved the music. Here is a list:
Take Me Home: Entertaining. Not really much though.
Follow Me: I like it, although it's adultish.
Starwood: I do not like this one. It's a weird one, can't get it really.
For Baby: This ones real good!
Rhymes and Reasons: Awesome! It's lovely!
Leaving On A Jet Plane: Bleh. I've heard to many versions.
Eagle And The Hawk: Good happy song!
Goodbye Again: Weird.
One of the best by jd, and that's saying something
If you want to sample some of John's work, or just want one of his cds this is a great choice that you can't go wrong with this cd. I recently got this album and I really love it.
Here are some great songs from this cd:
Take Me Home Country Roads; 1971; one of JD's best describing the beauty of West Virginia in this mellow country tune.
Follow Me; 1969; is an excellent John Denver songs. "Follow me where I go, what I do, who I know," is just a great song about friendship.
Leaving on a Jet Plane; 1967; is a song I have heard by many artists, none as good as this one. It is a fantastic song that reached the top of the charts a few times.
Poems, Prayers, Promises; 1971; is a fantastic song. "I have to say it now it's been a good life all in all, it's really fine to have a change to hang around. "
Rocky Mountain High; 1972; incredible song, I am speechless.
And many more. I mean what can I say, great cd, compiled of some of my favorite John Denver songs. If you want to buy one cd of John Denver this is a good one to choose.

Underrated Singer
Maybe he's too mellow for them. The critics have never been a big fan of John Denver. But there is no doubt that Denver created some highly crafted pop music. This collection has some of his better known songs from the 70's.
