John Denver takes you home
" Whatever you call it, this recording, coming in his 53rd year, is mature, beautiful, and will spoil you for the recordings from his 20's and early 30's. According to the web site for the John Denver World Family, this album goes by several names: "Love Again," "The Unplugged Collection," or "A Celebration of Life. By 1996 he had lived a lot of life, and it shows in this version of old favorites. A real gift to JD fans worldwide.

This CD sucks
This CD is terrible -- by far the worst I've ever heard from John Denver or anyone else.

Not quite his greatest hits...
If you like John Denver's stuff, I'd recommend this just about as much as his Definitive All-Time Greatest Hits album, both are excellent retrospectives. Although this contains many of John Denver's classics, they aren't the hit recordings, and many songs aren't hits but simply other classics, all re-recorded. I got this one pretty cheap, and I love it. I do recommend getting the hits eventually, but if you see this, it's well worth the six or seven bucks it'd cost to buy it.

Stick to the originals
I purchased this because everyone gave it such rave reviews. I'm a big Denver fan, but the original recordings to me were near perfect. Yes, his voice is strong, but it also seems more forced - like he was trying to prove how well he could sing. Several of the recordings reminded me of someone trying to sing them in a choir, with vibrato and vocal tricks.

Call me stubborn, but I think that only seriously serious Denver fans need this cd in their collection. If you like comparing one recording to the other, then by all means, buy it. If you want memories, stick to the originals. .

best of the best
John's voice shines through crystal clear. For those of us who like to hear mostly voice on our music, this is the CD to own. I own every john denver album, CD, DVD, and tape that exists and this is by far my very favorite!.
