Huge and soaring, 70s style The first disc alone is worth the price. John Denver's soaring vocals capture a moment in time, a moment of strong belief and optimistic future. Very open, very intimate. Yes, sometimes the sentimentality pushes the boundaries, but he's such a welcoming guest that you're entranced into believing the bounties of life, the blessing of the bright morning sun, and feeling the hopefulness of a sweet song sung with the full force of his humanity. .
Brings back great memories, and pure raw talent
It captures the pure joy and effervescence of John's concerts. I had this album when it came out, and I must have played it a hundred times. I was privileged to see John in concert when he came to Binghamton in 1982, and now this is a great nostalgic, but always happy experience for me. Highly recommended, John, your spirit soars in your music!.
Where's "Calypso"?
Am I missing something? I've read over the disc contents twice and don't see "Calypso"? Am I just overlooking it? Considering John's devotion to the environment in general and his untiring support of Jacques Cousteau in particular, this seems to be a pretty serious omission.
great
I have the album, the tape, and now the cd, if you like john denver, it is a must to have.
An Evening with John Denver
I had this as a set of vinyl in the 80s. I had been looking for this for years. Though I have the Rocky Mountain Collection and many of the songs are the same, the concert performances are so much better. The seller provided it as promised and well within the shipment window promised. .
