So pleasant to listen to He is remembered as one of the great American musicians and song-writers, and a leading humanitarian and environmentalist. John Denver was born Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. This album first came out in 1974, and contains some of John's greatest songs - including Annie's Song, Thank God I'm A Country Boy, and Back Home Again. Now, though, it has been remastered and includes two great additions - alternative versions of Matthew and This Old Guitar.
Overall, I found this to be a great album, so pleasant to listen to on long car trips. During my recent trip to San Antonio, Texas, this album became the soundtrack of my voyage (especially the trip home). I love this album, and highly recommend it to everyone.

Need a remix
I pretty much like all the songs on this album. This is absolutely one of John Denver's best albums. What about this remastered edition? It sounds a lot better than previous versions but not as nice as the bonustracks. The sound of these bonustracks is very full and alive. You just wish the whole album sounded like these bonustracks. Maybe RCA should reconcider releasing John Denver's catalogue in a newly mixed edition (like they did on the 'A Songs Best Friend'cd). He was RCA's biggest selling artist in the 70's, so it would be a good idea to have the audio quality improved. That way John's music could survive for a longer time. They might do what another former RCA artist has done on a couple of his 70's albums. David Bowie asked his producer Tony Visconti to take the original mastertracks to the studio, and clean up the audio and mix the album anew with all the modern equipment available nowadays and I must say these albums sound amazingly new and fresh. These John Denver bonustracks makes you wonder what these albums could soundlike when having had the same treatment as these bonustracks or like the Bowie albums.
