Great Medley of Neil Diamond It follows his incredible talent from his first appearance on the scene until 1996. This is a great collection of Niel's greatest hits. Almost all songs are from albums, not live appearances. The commentary that Neil gives for each song really is interesting and adds to the understanding of how the song came to be. Most poignant is the original taping that Neil had with his young daughters as he was writing "Its a beautiful Noise" followed by the released recording. All Neil Diamond fans should find the gathering of over 70 Diamond songs in this collection well worth the price. .
A Dynamic set of C.D.'s from a legend.
#2 You can't find a better price than what was offered for this priceless set of C. #1 This collaboration of songs from such a legend as Neil Diamond is the best thing out there for Neil Diamond fans. D. 's.
Great Music - Disc Problem?
It lasts for about 5 seconds or so then goes away. Just a quick question to others who have this: On the first two tracks of Disc One I can hear a clicking sound. Is that part of the recording or could it be a disc issue? If anyone knows I would be grateful for a reply. Thanks.
Best Neil Diamond boxed set
Everything in it is very nice and the musical selection that was placed on the cd's were excellent! Perfect for the collector or as a gift!. Boxed set is excellent! We purchased it and listened to it for days.
As a boxed set this kind of disappointed me
I can't fault the lovely presentation, and yet as a product it falls short of what it could have been. This boxed set is in a beautiful case with an impressive colour booklet and his comments on all the songs. Instead of 3 disks, why not use the space in the large box for 4 disks? And why include all the songs that every fan or even casual listener already knows? The truly fascinating ones were the demos and rarities. The set should have contained ONLY demos, rarities and alternate takes. We already have all the other songs and do not need them again! In fact I have THREE different greatest hits compilations besides this one, because I was trying to get all the tracks I did not have. Even this "definitive" collection does not have everything so it's just another, except for the booklet, the case, and the few rarities!
I have to say, in reviewing the "new" material, the previously unreleased tracks (very few), that these were highly enjoyable and just made me want more. In fact I loved Scotch on the Rocks a lot more than the final version, Love on the Rocks. And I loved hearing his daughters join in with his early rehearsal of Beautiful Noise.
I guess for some this could be fun just as it is, and listened to straight through as a retrospective, but to me it's just another collection missing a lot of tracks, and I bought it JUST for the couple of rare tracks, and it was quite pricy for that!
