Neil Diamond "As Time Goes By: The Movie Album
Some things should just be left to Sinatra . His voice is as gorgeous as always, but the tempo drags on nearly every song.


Worst Diamond album of all time.
"The Movie Album "just plain stinks. It is close between "Up on the Roof" and this thing. I sense Neil had this one forced on him by the record company. .


Rip-off
I happen to like about 8 of the songs a lot and the others are so-so. I'm not going to critique the music, that's totally subjective. Just my opinion, others will differ. In general, I like Neil Diamond's music a lot. Prospective buyers should know, however, that the price of this 33 minutes-per-CD set is a rip-off. That's right, there's only a total of 66 minutes of music, and therefore, no excuse to put the music on 2 CDs and charge a double-CD price. Columbia Records was obviously out to fool the brick-and-mortar buyer who hadn't read online reviews.

Golden Oldies & Newbies!
He still has the voice to delight those of us who enjoy the music and lyrics of songs from great lyricists, past and present, although I thought that at times Neil held the pitch of the note a little too long and as a result the notes became a little flat. Neil Diamond's medley of past and present movie adagios in this great album are indeed very pleasant listening. Nevertheless, he still sings with passion and feeling and I have always regarded him as a great songwriter and singer. He has definitely earned his place in the annals of the all-time great singer/songwriters. .
