Amazing and Fabuleous This early concert at the Greek theatre in Los Angeles is a marvel to hear. Neil Diamond is amazing, amazing and amazing. His voice is still strong after all those years, but this DVD is a real treat. I was not in the audience at that time but I could feel the beauty of the show. This music of course has become the favorites of all his fans and have brought him such love and fame and attention to his song writing skills. Out of all singers and song writers, I do beleive that Neil Diamond is one of the top 10 great musical genius's. He loves to write, and as he says, "he must write", so we are the lucky people to be able to hear his songs from long ago, and even now, how he has become even better, and his music has grwon with all of us. Hot August Night has become a collector's item. I am so glad I got mine.
In the Top 10 Live Rock Albums
What a celebration, what a party, what music. I hear this first at at party in DC when it first came out in the 70s. It's just terrific, has broad appeal, makes you want to get up out of your chair and stay there. . . especially Soulaimon! Reflects the singer-songwriter's creativity, musical prowess, stage presence. Timeless, sounds as good today as it did then. Required listening!
.
One of the greatest of all time...
I can listen to this album over and over and over but I put it away for a long time so I don't wear it out. What can I say? Probably one of the best live albums of all time and one of Neils best. Then I discover it all over again and it simply blows me away. I usually listen to it alone and actually get tears in my eyes every time I listen to it. The music on this can move you this much. Every time I let some hear it they love it.
Favorite Songs on the album: Morningside, Canta Libre, Play me, And the Grass won't pay no mind, Soolaimon.
So, what are you waiting for? Do you want one of the best albums of all time and be moved more than you ever been in your life with music! Then get this album.
It's all down hill from here. . . .
"Holly Holy" is spectacular live. Best Neil Diamond album ever. It's all down hill from here. Listen to an album where he actually sings rather than says his songs. Listen to him actually hold a note out at the end of a line or phrase. .
Great live album.
Tons of hits. Every act should have a live album this good. Great sound. But one of THE worst covers ever. I mean the hair is bad enough but he looks like he's singing to his [. . . ].
