Beautiful Noise says it all! The title of it says it all. This is only one of many albums Neil Diamond has made.
Neil Diamond has been making beautiful noise for years! I hope he continues to do so. Pages could be written about his talent and never cover all that he can seem to do with a piece of music. Great stuff. It arrived quickly from Amazon. I like using them as I have always gotten my order in good condition. .
A mid-seventies classic
At that time, he was a struggling songwriter struggling to make a living. Neil describes this album as a series of recollections of New York in the early sixties. Of course, he eventually succeed as a songwriter, following up with success as a singer. By the time that this album appeared, he was an international megastar. As if to prove that he was no longer struggling, he wrote all but one of the songs here and co-wrote the other (Dry your eyes).
The outstanding song here is the title track, which might well sum up the music coming out of New York in the early sixties, although some might argue that the music coming out of Liverpool (led by the Beatles) and Detroit (headquarters of Motown) was an even more beautiful noise. Let's not argue about that but just agree that a lot of great music was made in the sixties.
There are many other great songs here, especially If you know what I mean, Signs, Surviving the life and Don't think - feel. This is a brilliant album by a master at the peak of his craft.
Neil Diamond
I think his eary works are the best! I have worn out two "Hot August Night" CD's already and love almost everything he has made. I have always loved Neil Diamond's music and songs. jmp.
Without a doubt Diamond's Best Album!!
I have to admit to not knowing too many of Neil Diamond's albums as such, but like most people I know all of his hits. Produced by the legendary Robbie Robertson from The Band should be enough to know this is going to be a great album. They could have almost released every song off this album as a single and they would have been hits. Standout tracks to me are of cause Beautiful Noise, Stargazer, If You Know What I Mean, Streetlife, Jungletime and the track he actually performed with The Band on the last waltz, Dry Your Eyes, which amazes me never got on any of his greatest hits albums.
Neil Diamond, Beautiful Noise
It didn't have the smoothness. It was ok, not the greatest of what Neil Diamond has done. It was too edgy for me.
