Dio, Last in Line
That album can never be outdone, but Last in Line comes real close. Ronnie James Dio ruled in the 80's and Last in Line is his second best work only to Holy Diver. There are many good tracks on this album. A good rocking album, very enjoyable. Check out the MTV video for Last in Line - awesome. Highly recommended. .

We're off to the witch...
His second solo effort, The Last In Line, just plain rocks. Former Rainbow and Black Sabbath lead singer Ronnie James Dio has also had a successful solo career. He picked up right where he left off after the success of Holy Diver.

The album opens with We Rock. Great vocals, drumming and guitar. My personal favorite track is the title track, The Last In Line. It's so heavy and powerful. It just plain rocks all the way. Great lyrics, too. The song I Speed At Night is no doubt a drug song (LSD), but it rocks like crazy and is very fast. Great song. Evil Eyes sounds like an old Deep Purple or Rainbow tune. The hit Mystery has a great melody, like most hits do, of course. The song Egypt (The Chains Are On) is slower than other songs, but still rocks with classic Dio attitude.

I highly recommend this album. Ronnie James Dio is one of the greatest hard rock singers of all time, right up there with Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne, Ian Gillan, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, and Tony Martin. If you wanna rock, buy this album.

dio, metal great legend, great musicians, great sound
dio is a legend. dio is one of the best metal bands ever. great guitars and bass and drums and keyboards. great lyrics, awesome actually. dio is a first rate rock singer of all time.

Frankly, it's all very boring
The lyrics are no better, he writes about gnomes, trolls, dark elves and evil forests. Frankly, it's all very boring. It's obvious the guy played D & D (Dungeons & Dragons ) in the early 80's and probably has an oujia board in his closet. His voice is excruciatingly annoying, he whines through all the songs and then there are the corny guitar solos that make me want to puke. On one song they are even bold enough to add keyboards like a bunch of other crap 80's metal bands that didn't know where to go music wise. Most metal heads think this junk is classic but its not worth your time, that is, if you are a truly sane person. .

Strong Follow Up to Holy Diver
It starts off with a good up-tempo track "We Rock" and then leads into the title track which is one of Dio's best songs. You can tell Dio was trying to use Holy Diver as a template for this album and for the most part he succeeded. There are a few missteps like "Breathless" and "Mystery" which keep it a notch below Holy Diver but it's still a fine 80's metal album.
