What a score - two cds for the price of one... KTD is real good as well. Magica in my opinion is one of Dio's best efforts, it rocks. This is a huge score. .
2 disk set worth the wait?
U. Magica/Killing the Dragon is a 2 disk set from the E. (Germany?). Liner notes are sparse and don't include photos or lyrics but the slip cover is 3 or 4 pages authored by a fan review stating to the effect that these albums have been overlooked by many fans. Sound and production is normal and both of the CDs content are reviewed separately on Amazon so I think I'd like to comment on the shipping time.
I ordered this on May 31 and received it Aug 7. Its not a deal breaker as these are old releases but it is annoying that Amazon says that they are in stock and "ships from Amazon" but the product still takes over 2 months to arrive.
I've noticed this happening a lot more with Amazon lately but its probably due to their ability to get some really random stuff. While I appreciate that I would like to get a better estimate of the true delivery time before I order.
All that said, Amazon did credit my credit card $[. . . ] when the cost of this item went from $[. . . ] to $[. . . ] during the time between ordering and shipping.
As for the music: I don't get Magica. Its nearly a new age sound. Experimental is what I'd say. Killing the Dragon kicks some serious butt though and ranks up there with my essential Dio of Rising, Heaven & Hell, Mob Rules, Holy Diver, Last in Line, and Dream Evil.
