Rare tracks by three R & R Legends
Richard's cuts are most likely from one live session at the Boston Tea Party in May of 1970; Fats' material sounds like a later '70s assemblage; Jerry Lee's has some cool stuff apparently from TV. A re-release of a CD originally issued on Fuel Records as an import, we have interesting live recordings by Richard, Fats, and Jerry Lee, sound somewhat improved.
All the stars are in good voice, though Richard was recovering from an on-stage accident so it's possible that he was singing with a neckbrace, though he still sounds great, especially on the opener, "Lucille", complete with a soulful emcee intro. The Architect launches right into the arrangement - his best live "Lucille" on record.
Another highlight is Jerry Lee Lewis' "Chantilly Lace", every bit as good as the Pop Hit from 1972!
["Rip It Up" is mis-titled as "Ready Teddy"; "Long Tall Sally" is the LR closer, not listed].
