The Music is Fine it's . . .
Its a very annoying
trait, and while this isn't nearly as bad as the 1st Pablo Cruise
I purchased (and had to return - it was so bad), I will be very
hesitant to buying a old 1st CD of an artist, I don't have already. While I was happy with the purchase of this CD (Music wise),
This is the second CD from an artist (their first album), where every
song is cut off short of fading out naturally.

The Doobie Brothers(1st)
The cuts are
Raw & flowing foot stomping rock. This first try Doobies CD is one of the best by this band. The guitar & vocals are some of the best by any band from the 60s/70s rock era. I like other Doobies CDs too, but for me this is by far the best one. .

Impressive Debut
The sound is so loose and laid back you might as well be sitting on Tom Johnston's front porch sipping moonshine. Long before Michael McDonald emasculated them, the Doobie Brothers were one heck of a rock band. Every now and then you can hear, in its infancy, what would soon become the Doobies' trademark sound. While there's no particular standout track, the entire album is solid from start to finish. Highly recommended.

feel the beginning of excellence
Every single song gets me dancing and feeling really good, because the songwriting right from the very beginning of their career was impressive. The Doobie Brothers debut is the definition of a great, forgotten classic. "Nobody", "Slippery St. Paul" and "Greenwood Creek" are special classic tracks. Anyone who likes the older version of the band will surely enjoy this album. Ignore the fact there aren't any hit songs, and just focus on the great songwriting every single song provides. You will surely enjoy the album and consider it a classic. .

This Is Where It All Began
It didn't do well commercially, but it does explore the roots of where the next four albums would go, featuring such great songs as "Nobody" and "Greenwood Creek. Everybody knows and loves TOULOUSE STREET, THE CAPTAIN AND ME, WHAT WERE ONCE VICES ARE NOW HABITS, and STAMPEDE, but this album is where it really began for the Doobie Brothers. " The band members' belief that the young Australian tourist jailed in Indonesia since 2005 for drug-smuggling was wrongfully convicted, as well as their advocacy of increased funding for law enforcement, makes this CD reissue an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience.
