Drowning Pool...the beginning
The music isn't like Sinner at all, totally different, but in a good way. This is a truly great Drowning Pool cd for those that miss and can't get enough of Dave, I got this disc from the band when they were still playing bars and played my place for little of nothing, they worked their way up and this shows where they were at, at that time period in their lives. The cover rocks, pills everywhere begging to be taken and a hand reaching for them, too freakin' cool.
Basically, if you have the chance to get this disc and are a Drowning Pool fan, then grab it, because you may not see it again.
Drowning Pool's first demo.
I highly suggest that you listen to this first, then listen to Sinner. Pretty cool, If there was a demo that I'd actually like, it would be this. Here are my fav songs in order: From best at top to worst at bottom:
Sermon
Less Than Zero
You Made Me
Care Not
Soul
Let Me Go
I Am
Drama
Mask
And here is the scoop on the songs:
1)You Made Me: Quick guitar solo at the beginning by C. J. Pierce, and then the drums come in. At the end, Dave Williams has a breakdown. An excellent song. 10/10
2)Soul: 6 Minutes of pure awesome music. a great bass solo at the beginning before the heavy work. Cool song. 9/10
3)I Am: A drum solo, then BOOM, explosion of heavy metal. An awesome song. 9/10
4)Less Than Zero: An excellent metal song, at the beginning through to the end, is nothing but entertaining music. You won't want to skip this track. 10/10
5)Sermon: The best song on this CD. Guitar solo, then bass, then drums, the suddenly: Where Was God? A 7-minute mallow song. 10/10
6)Care Not: This is so good. One of the best. acoustic at the beginning, but then comes some very excellent vocals. Makes this a very good song. 10/10
7)Let Me Go: Much like Care Not, only faster. 9/10
8)Mask: Very fast-paced music. 'Nuff said. 7/10
9)Drama: Very good, much like Mask, only a little slower. 8/10
Well, I'd say that Sinner's better than this, but still, this is pretty interesting. Drowning Pool are the best. Bye.
Not Sinner
This is Metallica-esque songs that lasts anywhere from 5-8 minutes. Whatever you do before you look at this cd, just realize that this isn't not Sinner. "You Made Me" starts the album and leaves you already wondering if this is the same band. "Soul" is a 6 minute track that has good breakdowns towards the end. "I Am" on this one is much heavier than the one that shows up on Sinner. "Less Than Zero" was one of the band's best tracks. "Sermon" adds a more emotion and depth than the Sinner version did. "Care Me Not" is an 8 minute track that is similar to Alice In Chains in many ways, and is probably the best track on the effort. Sinner was a MTV made album that had horrible lyrics and music. The self titled was the first and last great album by what could've been a very promising band.
Drowning Pool made a great start on their way to stardom
The singer Dave Williams handles vocals very well, Stevie Benton's bass really sends shivers down your spines, C. Drowning Pool's band members have great talent. J Pierce handled that guitar so good I think he was the best in his guitar classes at School & Mike Luce really punishes your ears with those drums of his. Together they made a great demo that would eventually lead them to stardom
1. You Made Me: My 2nd favourite song on the CD. Fast, quick and ripping. You will NOT want to press any buttons while this song's playing. 10/10
2. Soul: A bit long but overall a good song. 6. 5/10
3. I Am: Great but not as good as Soul though. 6/10
4. Less Than Zero: My 3rd favourite song. After first listening to this song I was hooked for ages. Now I have 6 words for you. "How do you like me now" 9. 5/10
5. Sermon: This it it. My favourite song on this CD. Dave made sure that the vocals were tight and Mike pounded those drums great. The bass and guitar were the best of all. BEST SONG!!! 15/10! (10/10+)
6. Care Not: Sorry but this is my least favourite song. But it's only that the others are way better. It's still a great song though. 4/10
7. Let Me Go: What can I say, it's a great song. 'Nuff Said. 5/10
8. Mask: "Attention Please" all people that like fast-pace and heavy metal songs, Listen to Mask. It is great for a 6:17 long song. You will enjoy this song. "That is all" 7. 3/10
9. Drama: If your feeling very upset from school, work or other treachery then this song will really make you fell better. 5:20 of Excellent vocals, High pitch guitar, Very deep bass and so much heavy drums that you'll get a headache. Great song. 9/10
The whole CD was great. 50/10 (10/10+++++)This lead Drowning Pool to stardom and I'll stand behind them as a drowning victim. God Bless Drowning Pool!!!.
Great start on their way to the top! Period!
They did a good job with this CD. This CD is one great CD. The singer Dave Williams sings the songs in an aggressive and excellent way, Stevie Benton handles the bass very well, C. J Pierce rips up his guitar like crazy so much I'd say he was the best in his Guitar classes at School and Mike Luce will just punish your ears with those drums of his. Together they made a great start to stardom.
1. You Made Me: To be honest, this is my 2nd favourite song on the CD. You Will NOT want to press any buttons while this song's playing. 9. 5/10
2. Soul: Not my favourite but overall very good. 6. 5/10
3. I Am: I've heard rumours that in 1998(the year before this came out) Dp had an old singer called Sean and they did a song called Cigarette which was an older version of I Am and it was killer. This one is even better than Cigarette. 7/10
4. Less Than Zero: My 3rd favourite song. Like You Made Me you won't want to skip this track anytime soon. 8. 8/10
5. Sermon: This is it, my favourite song, great guitar and Dave did a great job with the vocals. 10/10+!
6. Care Not: Sorry but this is my least favourite song. It's just too long, I mean 8:56, come on. 2/10
7. Let Me Go: Not very good but still better than Care Not. 4. 6/10
8. Mask: this song will please fans that want to listen to really fast and heavy metal. 6:17 of really fast metal. 5/10
9. Drama: Stevie did GREAT with the bass in this one. 5:20 and fully heavy guitar and drums. The vocals are great. 7/10
That's it for me. Rest In Peace Dave Williams: best singer on Earth. and LONG LIVE DROWNING POOL! Final Score of CD: 10/10+.
