Good Ipod Fodder
It's where poetry and music meet. Folk-Rock's middle America's expressive musical medium. It tips the hat to problems reaching across all of the nation's society. It's quite powerful.
The problem with this set is that it begins with the 60s, and that first CD is tough to take off. The 70s -- "Ooh, those 60s folks with bad voices and negative messages were so-o-o-o disturbing; let's have some sweet harmonies about very little instead and dust off the old cats only when their lyrics are too obscure to give us bad dreams so that we can convince ourselves we're intellectual and still give a damn. The 80s -- As Eric Forman said in a trip to the not-distant-enough trip to the future in "That 70s Show," "What the hell was that?" The 90s and beyond -- I don't know about hope for the music and the society, but there's art here, and enough reference to the 60s to make us wonder what those great tunes would have sounded like with 90s and beyond gear.
It's sad to listen to the whole thing, but very good, almost mandatory Ipod rotation fodder.

Liner Notes Great Too
The main liner notes are by Bruce Pollock, who is also the co-producer of the package. This is just a correction to the above review. Thank you.
