Steve Earle Does Mountain Music With Del McCoury
Steve Earle, the man who did such albums as Guitar Town (Remastered)(Bonus Track) and Copperhead Road, has reinvented himself several times over the years. I really can not put into words how awesome this collaboration is, but I'll try. His first albums had a rockabilly Johnny Cash / Bob Dylan type feel to them, but this is Bluegrass music at it's finest.
Teaming up with The Del McCoury Band who did such albums as Del and the Boys was a move that produced some amazing results. I love this album; it has that old time sound that harkens back to the days of country legends such as Bill Monroe, Flatts & Scruggs, and The Carpenter Family. There isn't a throw away tune on this whole CD. Every song is a gem. If you like Union Station or Kentucky Thunder and you don't have this album in your collection then you're missing out. Do yourself a favor and pick this up; you won't be sorry. .

A folksey feast.
A wonderful batch of tunes. . especially "DIXIELAND", which, by itself is "worth the price of admission. ".

A great album. Buy it already!
With all the garbage that comes out every month under the guise of "Country Music," I can't imagine why this one was allowed to go out of print. It's good to see this CD back in print. It's a great album, definitely one of Steve's best. Bill Monroe would be proud.

Great album
From high-energy romps like Harlan Man, Texas Eagle, and Carrie Brown to the reflective ballad Pilgrim, this album is strong from start to finish. This is one of my favorite albums. Del and the boys really add some great bluegrass muscle to Steve's songwriting talent.
