Getting there
First off, 'Lights out' is pure class. Ok, I only got a copy of his after listening to kill the last romantic constantly for weeks so this CD seems slightly alien to me. IT'S HAPPY MUSIC!!!! Been a long time since I've come across a band who make it ok to be happy. 'Junkies and whores' is amazing. One of the best songs I've ever heard, it may be predictable, but still near perfect. If only the guitars were audible! 'Somebody do something' seems like they're trying to hard to sound odd. It works but Dav's sense of melody is too strong to repress. All in all, a good start to a band which are turning out to be truly incredible. If only more people were bothered.

You could make it harder... but it's an EASY world
. . "you hear the cynics and pesimist sing". . . Maybe Easy world it's actually making reference of those british bands radiohead-alike who need prozac urgently, but maybe "I might be wrong" (sorry Thom York. . . no pun intented). . . then they say ". . . I don't want to sit and talk about bad times, baby, there are a better ways to self destruct" and ooohhh this is so true, Easyworld is very enjoyable group with bass, electric guitars, pedals and strong drums beats everywhere, they are making powerful and catchy songs. They are probably one of the few torch holders bands of the fast Indie rock, the singer (wich I don't know his name because the CD doesn't mention the names of their elements) has an excellent voice, sometimes like Matt Bellamy on Prozac, you gotta hear the single "hundredweight". I bought this CD because of the first review (I like King Adora) but after listening the whole CD I noticed that Easyworld it's more like the excellent Indie group My Vitriol, maybe not that ellaborated but good enough to compete with them, gotta say that they are not the best songwritters (just listen "U make me want to drink bleach" to understand why. . . ) but they are good anyway.

Maybe they are not breaking any music ground but in days like these it's hard to find music that enegize and fill your hearth, cuz' there's already too much pessimism in the Indie rock in these days to crush your spirit (read Lowgold and Radiohead) but not Easyworld, that's why I gave it 5 stars (altough they deserve 4 for originality). Like Easyworld says "you could make it harder but. . . it's an easyworld".

Give this CD a try, you won't regret it, I highly recommend it.

Want more??? try also My vitriol, Idlewild, Muse and Ash.

I can't believe I have Listened to a CD so much!
After seeing Easyworld support King Adora in Portsmouth (And Meeting the drummer)I simply had to go and buy the copy of '. . better ways to self destruct'. Their 8 track album may be a short one, but they make sure they catch your ears and make them hear the sheer quality of their talents. I was somewhat dissapointed that the version of 'u make me want to drink bleach' was a remix, but after listening further to it I realised it was still a good track anyway. The power in the singing and the amazing riffs, like in the track 'A stain to never fade',make this album one you will keep listening to over and over. Watch out for the extra track, which some people might miss. If you like bands such as Muse or JJ72, you'll love this. My personal favourite track is 'Junkies and Whores'-Lovely harmonies and amazing chords and bass. Overall a worthwhile purchase.
