Customer Reviews
well done
tremendous song, tremendous band, but im writing this to say that i recently listened to this again after years, and I enjoy the 808 state mix a great deal. . just interesting how a different mix can just change the entire song around and make it mellow.

Best Song EVER Recorded
And one cannot be a true fan of music without owning this either - "Disappointed" is easily one of the best songs EVER to be recorded. One just cannot be a bona fide Electronic fan without owning this masterpiece of a single. And that's not an overstatement.

"Disappointed" is just heartbreakingly beautiful - the lyrics, the soothing melody, the contrasting voice of Neil Tennant all make for a total body experience into the sonic world of what it is like to experience the massive highs of love - and the depthless sorrow felt in the loss.

I have had this single since 1992, and 14 years down the road, it still is one of the best songs I have ever heard, and definitely one of the best marriages in music that has never been surpassed - between Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys), Johnny Marr (The Smiths) and the God of Music himself, Bernard Sumner (New Order).

The Electronic Mix and 808 Mix are amazing, and the FBI Mix of "Gangster" (from Electronic's debut album) is awesome as well. That said, my favourite is still the Single Mix - nothing can get better than the original in this case.

I would have been interested to hear what "Disappointed" would sound like with Bernard Sumner at the vocal helms, his innocent and youthful but yet utterly melancholic voice would most likely have made this track resound with overly unbearable depth in saddness. And perhaps we actually owe Neil Tennant a thank you for his higher pitched, more optimistic sounding voice that gives this infinitely sad song a sort of hope in the end that maybe life can get better. . . just maybe.

One of the BEST momentus song there is! 5stars! Praise!
period. Electronic-"Disappointed" is simply flawless.

When I first heard this song, I literally heard it for another 30times. It has momentum, vocals/guitar are astonishing! and the long girl wail is flawless, very emotional and yet danceable and enough to sing along to it. It made me recall
my adolescent age, where I was lost; and tired of dreaming.
and now I know what I did wrong (good reflection song and very distracting at the time, and EUPHORICAL. And it's EXTREMELY memorable & playable anywhere or with anyone: there's no limit.

PRAISE TO "ELECTRONIC" THERE SIMPLY THE BEST BANDS COMBINED.
--. >>The Smiths/New order & Pet Shop Boys, nevertheless the GREATEST:)
