MCMXC A.D. "The Limited Edition"D. MCMXC A. "The Limited Edition" being Enigma's debut album and their 1990 release is an album that brings back many memories for me. I remeber seeing the video Sadness on MTV back in my first year of going to Spyken. Here we get classic tracks such as "Sadeness", "Principles of Lust" and "Mea Culpa". The limited edition also includes 4 additional remixes not included on the original release. The artwork is quite nice and was done by H. P. Uertz. None of the lyrics are included. Allmusic gave this album a 4/5 in the review and I concur with this assessment. 4/5.
Relaxing, great for meditation!
It seems to help balance my moods, and if I'm too keyed up to sleep at night, I put the headphones on and drift off to sleep. A friend turned me on to Enigma and what a wonderful gift that was! I love to listen to this cd when I'm feeling a bit down, or when I want to just relax or take a few minutes to meditate. It's different from anything else I listen to. . . . . . . . and I love it! Try it and I think you will enjoy it as well.
Didn't think I could replace the one I lost.
In good shape. I had lost my copy of this and was delighted to find a replacement.
list of songs
Enigma uses same graphics on it's cover & I could not tell if it was the particular CD I was looking for. It would help if I could have seen a list of songs on this particular CD. It was not but that is ok - I like Enigma. But I am looking for a certain CD & have no way of telling which one is the right one just by the cover.
A gratifying listening experience
D. MCMXC A. --Enigma's debut album--was released in 1990. The seven compositions are seamless and play like an extended piece. The material is in a New Age musical direction. The album's sound quality is pleasing. I have always enjoyed listening to this piece of work over the years. Words to characterize MCMXC A. D. would be mysterious, refined, smooth, and creative. I like every one of the tracks. The Gregorian chants, the sounds of the flute, and the pulsating beats are what I find most memorable about this album. The disc is just over 40 minutes. MCMXC A. D. is recommendable.
