Sorta different but still great While he's a great musician and arranger/recorder his strong point is not his vocals unfortunately. I really dig this Enigma album because Michael Cretu doesn't spend a lot of time singing lead vocals, it's mostly instrumental although he does sign lead vocal on some tracks. This album rocks more than any other Enigma album and most of the tracks have a great bass line that will sure to get you grooving and give your speakers a work out. .
voyageur
Won't had bought it if I knew it was not as good. this CD of the Voyageur it's just not as good as the other ones.

In early '05 I went to Iraq to train Iraqi police, and later asked my brother to send me the 'copies' I had made of roughly 12 CD's, including this one. I bought Voyageur in '04, and must admit that I was cool to it after the first couple of listenings. Listening with headphones while writing home on my laptop, Voyageur quickly became a favorite. Right from the start with "From East to West" it was easy to forget my environment and become immersed in the unique beats and orchestrations that make Enigma a favorite. While 'Roi' is still the best and most cherished of my Enigma collection, Voyageur will forever hold a place of prestige in my heart. Friends downloaded my CD onto their iPods, some hearing Enigma for the first time, and were blown away by the artistry. We're talking police trainers in their 50's who were suddenly introduced to a new genre that impressed. -- TM.
The best Enigma album!!
The third left me very underwhelmed - the 4th one was a step up. The first 2 Enigma albums, I thought were perfect. Now with Voyageur, Cretu has taken a step forward and embraced techno/dance influences in strongest form. From the steady beat in "From East To West", this can only mean you're listening to Voyageur. Moving into the title track, this song exemplifies the entirety of this album. A great, pulsing breathing dance song that certifies the new direction Enigma has moved in.
Cretu makes great use of a fat bass-y synth sound that gives the songs their gallop, particularly on the title track, and Boum-Boum.
The experimentation continues on Incognito, arguably one of Enigma's best songs. It kicks in with a bass heavy beatbox, and lifts you up halfway trhrough the song with airy experimental sounds.
Boum Boum is one of the best tracks here. Great song. The album peaks at "Look of Today" a high energy dance track, club ready with a great beat; territory that Cretu hasn't ventured in until now.
He even channels Pink Floyd here, by way of "Total Eclipse of the moon" with its haunting melody and swelling synth lines.
Overall a fantastic and upbeat album, much better than Le Roi Est Mort and The Screen Behind The Mirror - I just wish I would've discovered this album sooner!
Word the the wise - I bought the special edition release of it but quickly (and accidentally) chipped the cd case. If you're going to get this album, just get the standard re-issue and save you the possibility of breaking the rare (and irreplacable) jewel case art.
No es tampoco lo que todos dicen
"Total eclipse of the moon", "Following the sun", "The piano" y "Voyageur" son excelentes. Si cierras los ojos y te olvidas de que está firmado bajo el nombre de ENIGMA, lo podrás disfrutar como lo he disfrutado yo. Las demás son muy buenas si tienes en cuenta de que es ambient pop.
