Modern Techno Eno
More upbeat than his "Music For. I have several Eno works in my collection and found this one to be a different twist. . . . " collections.

Frippoff
A good degree of likable ambient with soothingly experienced texture work for sure, but, in spite of conscious musical outsourcing, one can only help but sense encroaching electronic irrelevance in at least half a disc's worth of seasoned pretensions.

The Rhythm of Eno Ambience
Peter Schwalm, the artistic vision of Brian Eno tackles a musical canvas with rhythms that are placed in rich soundscapes. Through this collaboration with percussionist J.

The 11 tracks - clocking 68:12 - are given the time to develop after what is essentially an introduction - From This Moment - provides an overview in 1:21. Bloom is a centerpiece, as its two versions, 14:17 total, dominate the latter portion of the project, though Persis (7:41) and Night Traffic (8:19) are outstanding. Taken together, Like Pictures (Parts 1 and 2) have a wonderful ambience.

The performers draw a unique energy from the pieces, which makes this 2001 release a subtle - yet powerful - reminder that there is rhythm to Eno ambience.

dissappoint
I love Ambient2, ThePearl, Apollo, ShutovAssembly. I had big expectations from Eno's new album.
The DrawnFromLife is getting me nervous! I think the babyscream in a song is a very bad idea. + The long silence after the last songs.
In sum up this album for me sounds like a bad MassiveAttack album.

Top-class electronica
As professional and classy as you would expect from a Brian Eno project, but Drawn from Life is also clearly the work of two men who complement each other per fectly. What a great project! Definitely one of the better ambient electronica releases of recent times. Schwalm’s inventive beats and percussive figures forming a perfect bed of sound for Eno’s rich sonic tapestry. This is ambient with a beat â€" think a high-gloss Arovane or Dntel â€" and a superb music to snuggle up to on a Sunday night. But as opposed to Music for Airports, for example, this works best with active listening, preferably in the dark to soak up the brooding, nocturnal, lush atmospheres. Don’t expect miracles: this needs at least one or two listenings to kick in. The rest, as they say, is plain sailing. Why only 4 stars? I don't like the vocally bits. I find them unwelcome, unecessary accessory (cheese alert) to this kind of music, regardless of whether its Laurie Anderson, Terrence Mckenna or Martin Luther King doing it.
