An awesome CD & DVD release!
The DVD has the promo music videos "Bring Me To Life", "Going Under", & "My Immortal". This is no-doubt a very talented band, & I love Amy's powerful vocals! This release makes everything twice as enjoyable! The CD's bonus track is "Farther Away", & also has the other 11 songs on the regular Fallen release. The DVD also has behind the scenes of "Going Under", & "My Immortal".

DON'T FORM AN OPINION BASED ON IGNORANCE
She states that the only special thing about the band is the lead singer, Amy's, voice. I am disagreeing with Bjork, the first reviewer. Well, does she not hear the music?! We do have to agree that Amy is a very important part of the band- without her there would probably be no Evanescence. However, she is not the ONLY important object in the band. Also,if a band is going to have a lead singer then he/she does need to fulfill that "special" role and be especially good. After all, isn't the lead singer what attracts the fans mostly??? And lastly, her comparison of Evanescence to Linkin' Park is pure stupidity. The ONLY song Evanescence wrote that remotely mimicked Linkin' Park is 'Bring Me To Life' because of the rap verse in it. None of their other songs have raps in them. I'm not knocking Linkin' Park because I like them too, but it's not fair to say that Evanescence is "aftermath of Linkin' Park" based on ignorance. Evanescence has rightly earned their identity and everything they have to show for it.

COMPARABLE TO WHO?
Amy Lee is comparable to who? Evanescence is comparable to what other band when it comes to writing the music, adding the accompaniment, etc? Seems maybe Bjork needs to GET A TV so he can review and be let in on better music and have something to compare them to. Yes, like the second review I don't know what Bjork (or whatever) is listening to that he gave such a bad review.

One of the best Groups to come out in awhile
At least Amy Lee can sing unlike Britney Spears!!. I am not sure about the first reviewer of this CD but it is one of the best groups to come out in awhile.

Why all the fuss?
Something, the name, the cover intrigued me. It is amazing how many awards one can win by writing one song!

When the album appeared in my local music shop, I listened to it instantly. But like with so many other albums, only a couple of songs caught my ear, so I did not want to waste my money on it. Life is too short - and my music collection already far too big - for so-so music.

But now, a few months later, it seems like I bump into the band (not literally) and its music constantly. For example when I was in Vejle for a conference a few weeks ago and got to my hotel room, switched on the television (by curiousity as I don't have one at home myself) and stumbled over the totally rubbish programme 'Danish Music Awards'. Evanescence again. The band was given the award for best foreign album or something. [But did, understandably, not show up!]

Back in Luxembourg where I live, I therefore took the opportunity to borrow 'Fallen' from the Record Club, as it had after all been re-intriguing me.

But what IS the fuss?! The only special thing about Evanescence's music is lead singeress Amy Lee's voice. It is emotional and kinda sexy, and she sings pretty well. But after two songs (no, not half a CD, but two songs!) I was tired of it. The voice, the music. . . Evanescence.

It IS amazing. . . this band has written one song - the hit 'Bring Me To Life', which I in fact find a pretty good piece of nu-rock - and then made it into an album by copying it 8 times and adding the two obligatory ballads. Which are not particularly inspired either. So much for shooting stars.

And for that they get overloaded with awards. I don't get it. Evanescence basically sounds like an aftermath of Linkin Park, only with a female singer. Writes one song. Records it ninefold. And sell zillions.

I do not get it.

Me, I grant the album two stars out of five.

So much for shooting stars.
