like some other reviewers said, this is a song that i just cant get enough of. it is an in depth emotionaly powerful song that i cant seem to get out of my head. the song is produced perfectly for this song and it brings me peace just to listen to it. my immortal one of the greatest songs around. most music today is bland and lifeless but my immortal stands out as one of the best songs ever written. our website is www. realmusiccrusaders. com be sure to check it out.

thank you for your time.

what can I say???
" If you ask me, I cannot find another artist who combines the angelic sound of Amy Lee's voice with brooding, chugging guitar work. It's amazing when I look at other reviews and see comments like, "they sound like so many other bands. I've tried comparing Evanescence to other bands in their genre, and they definitely have their own sound and their own style. Plus, Amy Lee's voice is so much better than the lead vocals of, oh, let's say, Iced Earth, which is one band I've seen recommended in place of Evanescence. I've heard Iced Earth, and the purity of Amy Lee's voice far outclasses them.
"My Immortal" is without a doubt the ONLY song that has haunted me since the first time I heard it from start to finish. It is hands down one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I've got to admit, I have a little bias towards this song because the lyrics speak of a part of my past, but the reason for the effectiveness of this song is the piano, the strings, and, above all else, Amy Lee's heartbreaking voice. Without her, the lyrics don't stand out and the mood of the song fails. She delivers a flawless, heart-wrenching performance that could very well bring tears to your eyes (I wept myself). Forget all the shouting and screaming that's so prevalent in alternative/hardcore bands nowadays. They'd better practice up on their singing skills to reach Amy Lee's level of talent. Could she sing opera???. . . obviously not, but for hard rock music, Amy Lee and Evanescence have broken the mold.

it's so NOT "goth"
This is totally different than anything you've ever heard before. I have to say, this will deter a LOT of people from ever picking this up as it has a very dark, overdramatic, and melancholy tone to the word "goth".

She's got a voice good enough to perform classically
The band has actual arrangements to their music and she did the choral arrangements on the album as well.
The style ranges from power ballad to decent hard rock and lots of styles inbetween.

It's the best album I've ever owned and I would NEVER own something based on it's "gothic-ness" and I'm not really a hard rock junkie either. I'm just as much of a Celine and Lara Fabian fan as I am Bon Jovi, Nickelback, and Linkin Park. My favorite music is by far a great broadway belting musical.

Amy's voice pleases the professional in me, their rhythms, lyrics, and talent pleases the musician in me, and their playability pleases the fan in me.

Don't be fooled by labels-try them out if you're an all around music fan and you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!.

Goth Rock?
Personally I preferred "Bring me to Life" and "My Immortal" to some of the other songs in the second half of the album but they are good to listen to just the same. Although the singles from Evanescence are all rocky you might be surprised at the amount of "ballads" that are on the album although modern and sort of gothic. And "Bring Me to Life" was good enough to pay for it by itself.

Beautiful
I bought it because I wanted the band version of My Immortal which I always see on VH1. This single is just beautiful.

1. My Immortal (Album Version)- beautiful, but it's more like a piano version of the song (The same as the one in the album).

2. My Immortal(Band) - Gorgeous! Even if the band comes in at the very end. . . . gives it that extra beauty to the song.

3. Haunted (Live)- Beautiful song, this one is live from AOL sessions.

4. My Immortal (Live) - Live from Colonge! Another gem in this single! .
