19 track and 11 track editions are both great
The 19 track edition is indeed factory pressed and legit. This Album is Awesome! I have both the 19 track edition and 11 track . The 11 track Origin is the one listed here. The 19 track edition is almost completely different with a much more gothic look to it. The album has some really good alternate versions on it. It is much darker than Fallen and The Open Door. Awesome CD!.

Amy Lee says download it! Don't pay for copies.

The tracks on this page are provided in accordance with the express permission granted by Ben Moody and Amy Lee in their interview with DC101 radio on February 24, 2003.

interviewer: but now do you realize how much your old stuff is selling for on ebay right now?
amy: it's a shame
ben: two hundred and fifty-five dollars
interviewer: isn't that amazing?
ben: I want to say right now, and I posted this on the message board, that's ridiculous
amy: we are not doing that
ben: download it
amy: yeah, download it
ben: download it - that's old stuff, you can't buy it, so you're not stealing anything from us, just download it
amy: honestly, just buy the album [Fallen] it's so much better now than we were when we were kids
ben: and for those of you selling it for that amount of money, it's a
amy: damn you!
ben: yeah, that's a freaking joke
interviewer: Ben, do you guys get pissed when you find out people are downloading your music?
ben: no
interviewer: not the old stuff, but I mean like anything like new that floats around?
amy: we want people to hear our music however they can and since the CD is right now - it's not out - you know to go online and to download it and to hear it and see if they want to buy the album that's totally great - I encourage that but you know we hope they'll like it enough to go buy the album when it comes out
ben: we have faith in the people who, if they really like our music
amy: they'll want to support us
ben: they're going to be cool enough to want to support us and realize that if they don't, then the record label gets our first born child

11 Track or 19 Track Version?
If you are looking for a lagit original Big Wig 11-track release of Origin. GOOD LUCK! There where only 2500 or so made years ago. It was never released as a retail CD. These sold on ebay for around $250 a few years back. I've purchased 3 of the so called original 11-track versions since. Not a one where from the original 2500. The 19-track EU versions I have come across have all been factory pressed and purchased from one of the largest distributors in Sweden. Though many more of the 19 track version has been manufactured, it has become much harder to find. Now, everyone and there mother has been making and selling copies of the "original" 11-track Big Wig version. If you love the music, buy it or buy both as they are different with the EU version including a lot more material. Don't spend a lot on an 11-track thinking you are going to get one of the originals. Also I believe you can download the 11-track version from the bands site.

Below is the track list for the 19-track version. Notice it includes 2 tracks that where cut from the original Origin, "Listen to the Rain" (a song Amy Lee wrote for her high school graduation which included her school's choir) and "Demise". Also, I really do like their version of Nervana's Heart Shaped Box on this CD.

1. ORIGIN
2. WHISPER
3. IMAGINARY
4. MY IMMORTAL
5. WHERE WILL YOU GO
6. FIELD OF INNOCENCE
7. EVEN IN DEATH
8. ANYWHERE
9. WHERE WILL YOU GO (REPRISE)
10. LIES
11. AWAY FROM ME
12. ETERNAL
13. LISTEN TO THE RAIN
14. DEMISE
15. WASH IT ALL AWAY
16. BEFORE THE DAWN
17. BRING ME TO LIFE (MIXMAN MIKE'S CLUB MIX)
18. MISSING
19. HEART SHAPED BOX (LIVE ACOUSTIC NIRVANA COVER

Raw, Original, and Different
So the 4. I won't bother explaining the differences between the real version and the bootleg since everybody else has done that already. 5/5 rating is for the songs on Origin, not what form the CD comes in.

I'm a fan of all Evanescence albums, but I find their pre-Fallen work, including Origin, much better than their current work. Is it because I'm one of those people that romanticize the music of the past? Maybe so. All I can say is that I find the less-than-perfect, raw production quality of the sound of the Origin days far more suitable for Evanescence's music than the over-produced sound they have today. I still respect the band, but I think that the overall atmosphere on Origin is very different from Fallen, which in turn makes it quite distinctive from most of the rock groups on the radio now.

There is a certain vulnerability and innocence to the songs of Origin and Evanescence's earlier work that is unique and I find to be unusually genuine. The range of instruments used, the combination of Amy and David's voice, and the more experimental, varied approach to the songs are especially effective on Origin. Even though the lyrics, the music, and Amy's vocals are obviously less "mature" on Origin than E's newer work, the raw emotions that are delivered through the songs are what matters on this album.

I recommend this album to anybody, especially to people that are already fans of Evanescence, of course. Perhaps it's the sort of mysteriousness and rarity that surrounds this album that really draws me in, but I still think Origin's a hell of a lot better than the newer stuff.
