Sure wish this contained the STUIDIO version of "You Send Me" Can anyone help me with a digital track of this STUIDIO cut, originally on "Born Yesterday" (1985)?. If it did, I'd give it 5 stars.
The Everly Brothers grow up
They had hits with simple, basic, fairly written songs early in their career. It is obvious that these songs on these cd's are far better than anything they have ever sung before.
Now, with wonderfully written, and beautifully performed songs, these will be nown as their peak years. These songs and their delivery are far superior to any early year hits.
They got better, not older.
"Always buy a Cadillac", their alltime best, along with Born Yesterday,Solitary Hearts, etc.
If you only buy 1, this is it.

a fabulous phase of a stellar career
Some of the arrangements lack the purity of their earlier Cadence and Warner recordings, but you have to appreciate the song selection--some of Don Everly's best work, not to mention the best song Paul McCartney wrote in 10-12 years. These songs represent a more upbeat, consciously-produced period for the Everlys. Producer Dave Edmunds could have lightened up on the echo and orchestration a bit because the Everlys need less of that kind of help than almost any act ever recorded, but these are still essential and moving tracks.
