Awesome Album )and thanks to this band I became a punk I highly recommend this! (sorry for my English I'm Puertorican). I cant believe there's a lot of people giving this less than 5 stars The Exploited are one of the best punk bands ever!!! They've always been my favorite band and trust me I've listen to a lot of bands (hardcore anarcho oi street horror etc. Crappy, unfortunately The rest are godawful. You would think The Exploited, a popular and famous band, would have some really cool songs on their "Best of" album, right? Well, they do have about 3 or 4 good songs. What a shame. Their good songs are "Computers don't blunder" and "Dead Cities. " "Attack" is ok. "Dead Cities" is by far their best song. Probably the best they ever did. Try to get those songs from a friend. Don't buy this album. not all that great they were influenced by streetpunk music, but it would be wrong to call them that. first of let me say this is not an oi! band. oi! was a kind of streetpunk with songs about nationalism, unity, woringclass protest, beer, etc. the exploited stood behind their belief in anarchy which eliminates them from being called an oi! band. the exploited did put out some decent material but lets face it, they are not all that great. their lyrics lack intellect, and most of the music itself is boring hardcore. if you are looking for classic punk with no real message, talent, look no further. this is theee band that the bands on punkcore want to be. stupidity. The true birth of streetpunk Just compare songs like "Dead Cities" or "Rival Leaders" to songs by Sham 69(great band, by the way) and you'll see what I mean. Sham 69, The UK Subs, and The Anti Nowhere League all came before this, but the Exploited were the first oi! band to play their music superfast and agressive. As important as the Exploited are, their studio albums were somewhat unsolid, making this best of a good buy. The only reason I fall short of giving this five stars is because it sounds dated. Later bands such as A Global Threat, The Unseen, and The Virus would make streetpunk much catchier, while still being rough. However, this is a great buy for fans of modern streetpunk, or those interested in the faster side of oi! music. Overall, the Exploited were not the best streetpunk band, but they probably were the most important. BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!!!! Cons:no remastering so sound is mediocre. Pros: 27 Exploited tracks,nicely selected from their singles and first 3 albums. 2d option but more expensive and less comprehensive, DEAD CITIES(highly recommended 18 track remastered comp. ).
