Beautiful

I first heard and saw Fabi on one of the Italian summer singing television programs. First off, the album is by Niccolo' Fabi, not Vasco Rossi (as appears in some of the links here on Amazon). He performed "Se Fossi Marco", a catchy pop song. I liked it and am always interested in hearing more contemporary Italian music artists, so I picked up this CD. I enjoyed the CD after the first few listenings, but then got caught up listening to something else and forgot about it. I recently pulled it out again, though, and have fallen in love with it. The songs are upbeat, catchy, and quirky, mixed with atmospheric melodies that take it beyond the average pop album. My Italian is somewhat limited, but I understand enough to get the gist of most of the songs and enjoy the images he puts into words.

Among my favorite songs on this album are: "10 centimetri", a beautiful, almost haunting song. "Zerosei" (Rome's area code) is a melodic ballad with moments of soaring beauty. "Lunedi'" is an upbeat, happy-sounding song with an almost Carribean element that will have you bopping and smiling.
