Customer Reviews
Best of the Best
" While I don't agree 100% with that statement, I would say it's true enough! This album was (and is) the highlight of John's career. Richard Marx was quoted as saying, "I believe Sam Cooke was the greatest vocalist who ever lived and John Farnham is the greatest vocalist alive.

The fact that it was released in the mid 80's means you're gonna get some seriously 'keyboard-emphasized' music but the songs are extremely well written and John sings the hell out them! His voice is simply awesome. This album was released at a turning point in John's career. Either he secured a hit or his solo career was over. His producer, Glenn Wheatley, put everything on the line for the album. . . . even mortgaging his own home. Upon release, it soared straight to the top of the Australian charts and John had arrived.

BUY THIS CD! You will NOT regret it!.

good voice in popular music
He has a good voice and even if he isn't singing big ballads, he's singing rockers instead, he still has a good voice. There are many great cuts, my favourite is reasons.

Maturity of thought
was simply wonderful. When I was younger (and I am not that old), I thought John F. Then my music tastes expanded, and I forgot about John's music. Recently, I found a compilation tape of his music, and regardless of the type of music I have been listening to in the meantime, which has included death metal, rock, pop, folk, and other genres, I returned to this music with refreshed enthusiasm and enjoyment. He, AND HIS BAND to my mind, have made an impressive mark on Australian music. They are truly excellent musicians and have produced a number of albums that are well worth the inclusion in any discerning musician's collection.
