Dirty Boys Deliver the Sleaze Rock Again
Fear not. If you enjoy hard rocking sleaze rock, chance are you've been in a void lately. The original sleaze rockers that brought us "Got your number off the bathroom wall" and "Where there's a whip there's a way" have returned once again with "The Power and the Glory Hole. "

While this disc doesn't recreate the exact same style of music they made in the 80's and 90's, it does offer several great new cuts, including some that are instant sleaze classics such as, "Shut Up and Fxxx", "Hey You", "The Power and the Glory Hole, and "Gotta Love It. " If you don't play guitar now, after hearing these songs you will want to.

I'm just thankful these guys are still kicking and care enough about their fans to continue to put out great hard rock that harkens back to the stank of the Sunset Strip. For those of you who aren't familiar with this band, I recommend picking up this disc. (as well as some of their other stuff. ) I think you'll agree that they were one of the most original and fun bands to come out of LA. Not to mention very underrated. .

Faster Pussycat kill kill....
Only one review for a new Faster Pussycat album. Wow. That says something in and of itself.

I see they're calling it Industrial. I call it too synthesized. The production gives it a dated techno-feel when it should be rocking hard n' heavy.

If you're looking for some new Pussycat you haven't heard yet, I would much more recommed Whipped for more of a hard rock sound with a creative edge - if you havent already heard it yet that is.

Other new(er) albums from older artists that I would recommend long before this one:

Blue Cheer - What Doesn't Kill You/2007 - These old guys play harder than ever. You would think they're in their late 20's. . .

Bruce Dickinson - Chemical Wedding/1998 - Great, hard, heavy, consistent album to the end and different than his signature Iron Maiden sound. A high point for Mr. Dickinson.

Moonstone Project - Time To take A Stand/2006 - How'd I miss this when it came out?!?! Don't you miss it. Loud, hard, heavy, rock from a supergroup all-star jam featuring guest artists including: Ian Paice & Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Steve Walsh (Kansas), Graham Bonett (Rainbow/Alcatrazz/Impellitteri), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge/Ted Nugent/King Kobra), James Christian (House of Lords), Tony Franklin (Whitesnake), Kelly Keeling (Blue Murder/Michael Schenker/King Kobra), Eric Bloom (Blue Oyster Cult), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt), and Howie Simon (Talisman). What a lineup. Not to be missed!!!!!

Uriah Heep - Wake the Sleeper/2008 - Damn. This is one GREAT album. WAKE THIS SLEEPER!!! Before I stumbled across this, I couldn't even name one UH song. I had heard of them but didn't really care for their high pitched Judas Priest style sound. Some Iron Maiden and any DIO I can take but Qeensryche and Priest are borderlining it. Still dont really care for the sound. But man is this album different than anything I've heard from them before. These old timers have produced a MAGNIFICENT hard and heavy as anything today but with more experience behind the musicianship and songwriting talent. And can still successfully incorporate a keyboard into music this hard and fast. To the head of the class for these guys. A blessed swan song for their long career. Damn. . .

Cinderella - Still Climbing/1994 - I had ignored this when it first came out. Except for a few filler ballads, a solid heavy blues rock album that sounds different to me than anything else they did but just as hard with more updated sound. I'd like to see a new one from them when Keifers vocal chords heal.

oh yeah!
maybe its the industrial touch, but after listening to this cd I want to take a shower. after all these years Taime and the boys finally made a sleaze record that can actually be called sleaze rock. right on! LET IT ROCK! .
