Cheer Up Mr Ferry
The songs are often romantic but very distant, and not very warm at all. The album is somewhat similar to Avalon but it remains a rather melancholy affair. Ferry is so awesome, he should cheer up, throw away his keyboards, and go make a great rocker. Or something else than this stuff.

Great For Romance
The music is extremely sensual and the flow goes well with a night of erotic passion. This is one of the best CD's to put on the player when you want to set a very romantic mood--I've been using it for years.

Load up the CD changer with Boys & Girls, Roxy's Avalon, Enigma's 1st one, almost any Toni Braxton, and Madonna's Erotica and you've got the makings for some hot romance. Of course, some good wine and a fireplace will also help.

I've felt like a "Slave to Love" for years so it was nice to know there was a song about it!.

The best of Bryan Ferry
The sound is like nothing else out there. This CD is seamless; there isn't a bad or weak song on it. Only Bryan Ferry could develop a set of songs that generate from the same theme and concept without sinking into dull repetition. This CD is the soundtrack of my soul. Anyone who ever wonders "What is it like to be really in love?" should listen to this CD. Bryan Ferry knows, and he lets us peek into the upper realm of his emotional, sensual world. The only "bad" thing about this album is that at some point it has to end. I wish BF had made a double album or written 15 to 20 tracks while he was feeling this inspiration. It is his crowning achievement.

Bryan Ferry is SOULTRY
But when Boys and Girls came out it was definately Dont Stop The Dance my 2nd favorite was Sensation I've always been a fan of Bryans and always will be *****your an excellent artist Bryan Ferry******,continued success. I've been listening to Bryan Ferry since I was in High School and that includes Roxy Music my favorite cut was always More Than This.

You can't always trust first impressions...
Time has a way of changing things. When Ferry released Boys and Girls as both a long time Roxy Music and Ferry fan, I thought it was a good follow up to Avalon. After not listening to it for a year, I reconnected with this classic work. Ferry clearly is attempting a dance/pop ambient album. In fact, it's rather ironic that Ferry booted out Brian Eno from Roxy Music as he and Eno have both ended up at very similiar places.

Boys and Girls is a melodic, moody gem that creates a strong sense of atmosphere. Ferry once again demonstrated that he was far ahead of his imitators (i. e. , fine bands like ABC). The follow up album Bete Noire continues to build on the basic framework established with Avalon and Boys & Girls. Bete Noire manages to take Ferry's love of jazz, R&B and pop and integrate it into a distinctive sound. For a long time after the first break up of Roxy, Ferry seemed to be a drift from his own musical identity. With this album and Bete Noire (as well as Momouna) he reclaims it as his own.
