Progressive mix of rock and jazz with one commerical hit
A few of the songs got airplay on the FM rock stations of the late 60's and early 70's. I only vaguely remembered Fever Tree before I bought this compilation. The song mix is eclectic ranging from early jazz-rock to a more progressive rock sound. The liner notes state that the band is a product of Houston, TX, which is surprising given the strong West Coast sound they seemed to aspire to. The centerpiece of the CD is the remastered `San Francisco Girls. ' `Girls' is a great, if not widely remembered, wistful reflection on the 60's psychedelic era. I heartily recommend this album to those who missed this band.
