Editoral Review And FFH sticks with its sincere approach (with a slight twist) on the group's fourth major-label release. While it's not terribly complicated, FFH's brand of hooky pop, blended harmonies and to-the-heart lyrics carries a genuine appeal. Sure lead singer Jeromy Deibler and guitarist Michael Boggs have a knack for writing great guitar-driven melodies ("It's a Good Day," "Ready for a World," "His Love Goes on Forever"). But FFH now leans heavily on piano as a foundation. From the opening "You Found Me" and "Good to Be Free," to the hymn-like "If Not for Christ," to the closing "Here I Am," the group does more than just tap its creative toes into the water. With impressive maturity, the group boasts lyrics that reflect an evangelistic perspective, while not sugar-coating the sometimes harsh realities of the Christian life in the spotlight. It's that earnest transparency that makes FFH a winner once again. --Michael Lyttle .. You can see a complete list of all FFH discography, or go back to the FFH tabs |
