Customer Reviews
best fifteen album
(. i need to get this on cd. . . )i got this album on tape a while back, trying to patch up the holes in my 15/crimpshrine collection and was surprised how good it was. i knew songs like 'helter smelter,' 'no tion,' and 'food not bombs' were great from 'allegra,' but damn. . . the whole album is incredibily solid and does not have a single bad song that i had to skip over. well, come to think of it, neither does any other 15 album (excepting surprise!, which is fairly mediocre); but these are easily some of jeff's best songs.

You Know It
How can you not? Why are you even planning on wait 5 days for it to be shipped to you? Go down to your local record store (LOCAL! not The Warehouse, they probably wont have it) and buy this album right now. Let's face it, the fact that your even considering this album shows that you need it, because you obviously don't have it. Fifteen is a great band, who write great songs, and play great music. Truthfuly, though, Jeff can't sing, but it doesn't matter (well, it shouldn't) because this is punk damn it. It's all reminicent of early blues. So. . . uh. . . I'm done now.

Even if you don't live in Berkeley California and you do
As another reviewer mentioned, there is even a Hendrix like quality to the guitar parts on some songs ("world starvation" for example) this song also begins with a wailing harmonica solo. shower regularly (something that could not be said of most of the filthy little "street punx" that compose this band's major following) You can love this album. Sadly, many people who I've played this for (after first raving to them about how amazing of a record it is) simply can't get past Jeff's voice which is very gruff. To say "this guy can't sing" is missing the point entirely. This CD has stayed in my truck's stereo for weeks at a time, cuz I never get tired of listening to "Buzz". Once you've heard it a few times, read the lyrics sheet and you will be amazed. It seems like each song has at least two lines that would make an ideal yearbook quote to go under the missing picture of that kid at your school that nobody liked.
