It Truly Is Beautiful
After seeing Flickerstick perform at my college last Spring, I bought their EP To Madagascar & Back, and their latest album Tarantula. My roomate recently gave me a copy of this CD. But this. . . is what I'd been wanting for a very long time. I wanted to savor the incredible sound that is Flickerstick LIVE. There was no better experience than being up close and personal with this incredible band and talking to them afterwards to find out what they were doing and where there were headed.

Flickerstick's LIVE album, Causing A Catastrophe gives listeners an entirely new experience in that the bulk of the songs (heard from their first album Welcoming Home The Astronauts) are played in different pitches giving them an entirely new sound and life, as well as 3 other songs that have never been on an album (Telling the World, Believe, and Fade Into You).

The fact that the first and last tracks are Direct Line to The Telepathic MAKE this album what it is. It's powerful, heavenly, and to use one of the song's names, "beautiful" to me.

I now own every one of this band's albums and if you yourself are a big fan of Flickerstick, do not pass this one up.

A MUST HAVE
Live albums to me can be a let down but in my opinion not in this case. Ok, so I must admit had I not become aware of this band on VH-1 bands on the run I never would have been exposed to Flickerstick. I like it better than the studio version. This band takes me back to the music I enjoyed in the 80's such as R. E. M. and U2. When you ask that all important question of what cd would I have on a deserted island. . . . this is it. Cannot bring myself to take it out of my cd player. Buy this album as well as all of the others. I know you will enjoy, esp if you have come to Amazon and have done a search on Flickerstick.

Best live album in a long time
Metallica's S&M had too many of Load and Reload on there. With the sudden rush of live albums being made hardly any of them make any memorable impressions. Nine Inch Nail's And All That Could Have Been while a great album isn't one show and it kind of takes away from the thrill. However being present at the Flickerstick show in Deep Ellum, I can officially say they captured the full energy and craziness of that show. I was dissappointed to see "Hey" didn't make the cut even though it was played during this gig. Hearing the new tracks "Believe" and "Telling All The World" makes me anticipate their new album even more.

...lunacy has found me!"
This live album is a small example of their ability to get down on-stage. Flickerstick are good home-grown TeXaZ BoyZ that light up tha alternative world w/ inspirating music and stone-cold lyrics.

This CD is the Epitomy of Indie Rock
the good part about this CD is that the way the songs sound on the CD, sound just as good, if not better LIVE. This CD is great. i had the oppertunity to see them live in MD at the ottobar and it was outstanding. they were even cool enough to let my friend and i upstairs to hang with the band for a moment. i would suggest picking up this CD, and the Other CD, cause they both rock my world!!.
