2 songs from the first 4 albums?!
to have only 2 songs represent this early stage of his career, and to call it 'the very best of dan fogelberg' is a travesty. i'm sorry, but my personal opinion is that his first four albums were the best of his career. if you are familiar with his work, you already know this. if you are new to him, and think he only wrote sappy romantic ballads, listen to his first 4 albums. that material is 'the very best of dan fogelberg', in my opinion.

Grew Into Adulthood With This Music
Have always loved many of his songs and they were all there for me remember. Especially moving since he passed away and was close to my age.

Excellent CD
There are 17 songs on the CD and it is truly "feel good" music. This is a fantastic collection of his greatest hits. If you need to have your spirits up lifted, this is the CD to listen to! .

Nice CD!!!
Can just recommend this one. Great CD for a great Price. Seller mailed it out quickly.
Thanks!!! .

Never forgotten...
Dan moved, sometimes a bit awkwardly, between album-oriented folk-rock in the early '70s to becoming a hugely popular "top 40" artist in the early '80s. We lost Dan Fogelberg last year to prostate cancer, and while he left us much too soon and will be greatly missed, there is a part of him that can never die, and it's well-represented in this career-spanning collection. But despite his sudden ascent, Fogelberg never really compromised. He was a beautiful lyricist with a three-octave voice perfectly tuned to express what was on his mind and in his heart. He was a social activist of the first order, as evidenced by his outspoken involvement on issues from the war in Vietnam, to Native American concerns, to the environment. These sensibilities are woven deeply and authentically throughout the music he created, but never in a preachy, pontificating manner. Fogelberg painted beautiful musical landscapes, whether the topic was preserving the natural world, or pondering the human heart. In Leader of the Band, Fogelberg celebrates his father for giving him those gifts he possesses, musical and moral. In "Longer" he brilliantly uses images of the world's natural beauty to declare to a woman the depth and permanence of his love. The holiday season is upon us as I write this, and (very) recently I found myself living out a very moving and unforgettable version of "Same Old Lang Syne. " The details may have been slightly different, but my feelings and those expressed in this beautiful song couldn't have been more the same, for I'll never forget walking out of that store and how, when the cold wind hit my face, this song filled my head. And I listened to it on my IPod all the way home.
