good, but not his greatest....
to be honest, i was not immensely impressed. i bought blue moon swamp after i bought deja vu and premonition. although it has several good songs (like hot rod heart and bring it down to jelly roll), it also had so terrible songs, like 100 and 10 in the shade & rattlesnake highway. overall, i would recommened premonition or the long road home live over this. .

Energizing
I do love the blues, having been raised in Chicago. I really enjoy the energy I feel when I listen to his music. "101 in the Sun" is my favorite song on the CD.

Classy Comeback
Really strong material, written by the man, played by the man, arranged and produced. Southern Streamline and One Hundred And Ten In The Shade would gave made great A-sides back-in-the-day (hate that cliche), and Bad, Bad Boy would have sounded fine ridin' their coattails. . . you get the idea.
Obviously still proud of his Sun Records meets Lightin' Hopkins beginnings, he delivers on all tracks.
Joy Of My Life is a beautiful love letter to Mrs. Fogerty. No synthesizers, drum machines, or off-key chorus.
Can't say that I moved by all the cuts, but what a pleasure it is to have a real rock and roller return to the roots and say, there I was and here I am.
.

You WILL Enjoy Listening -- No question about that; the tracks are pure joy (and pure in their joy)
From the few I've sampled, I've agreed with them all. There are a gazillion reviews already. I have my favorite tracks. I could say how you can listen to the samples of the tracks, but really the frequency response is truncated -- as are the sample durations too of course. You'll find plenty of tracks to like. They are NOT all the same kind of sound -- especially once you get the CD instead of listening to samples.

But what do I have to say in my review that hasn't been said? I'd hope to be able to add something. In the case of Fogerty, he makes me feel patriotic -- not because the songs' content speaks to anything about patriotism, but because I'm such an intellectual and I often get down on my fellow Americans for being unsophisticated and overly literal-minded and thus missing aesthetics all over the place. Here though, the straight-forward joyous aesthetics are something to be proud of as an American creation -- ain't no need to get all intellectual sophisticated philosophical here. The pure joy just oozes out. And in different ways in the different tracks.

That man can play.....
From beginning to end, it is seamless. Well, I have to say that this album is superb. Mr. Fogerty thank you so much for this great piece of music. It's easy to see why "The Dude" (aka Jeffrey Lebowski) dug CCR so much, thanks again John and keep it coming!!!.
