"Put me in Coach, I'm ready to play..."
The rest of the album's good too. An album worth the price of admission just for one of the classic baseball songs of our time. Proof indeed that there is life after CCR for John Fogerty.

The best!
The debut solo effort from the legend John Fogerty, truly classic, every song is a total hit. One of the best up-beat rock albums ever made, and shows why Fogerty is a fine musician. This album can be listened to all the way threw over and over.

A Moment in the Sun

His frustration with facets of the music industry are given grand slam treatment - Mr. Nearly a decade of professional turmoil was tossed out of the game when John Fogerty released this solo album (he wrote and performed all the instruments on the songs) in January 1985. Greed, Vanz Kant Danz (originally titled, Zanz Kant Danz) - though it's the title track that continues to resonate every summer in ballparks big and small across the nation, though the song is as much about life as it is about an eager bench-warmer looking for that one break to show his stuff on the diamond.

The Old Man Down The Road is solid rock/blues and the lyrics are just plain fun in Rock and Roll Girls. Big Train (From Memphis) has an eternal feel of looking for that greener grass on the other side of the mountain, while I Saw It On T. V. strikes out with solid social commentary.

The album stole home by sliding into the top spot for one week in March on the Billboard 200 chart, but will always find the way in future starting lineups after winter rolls back, the dirt infield is finally dry and when "there's new grass on the field. " .

Centerfield.
Several years ago, I wore out my tape of the same title. I absolutely love this CD. It is one of John Fogerty's best works!.

"Centerfield" John Fogarty
"Centerfield', by john Fogarty has always been one of my favorite baseball-related pieces, and I am looking forward to playing it at the opening of the 2009 Baseball season.
