CLASSIC BOOGIE
THE Summer Album!!!
Rock in the 70's were about open air festivals, beach balls, bikinis, beer, sunshine, bbq!.

Amazing document of a great live band
It's been over 30 years since this record first hit the shelves, but the memories are still pretty clear in my mind, especially as I listen to the tracks. Man, how time flies. "Foghat:LIVE" was the band's commercial and critical pinnacle, and with good reason as this set pretty much defines what this group was all about: flat-out, hard-rockin' blues-boogie.

Coming in at under 40 minutes, it was also a tribute to brevity, something that was lacking in most of the 70's-era live albums. You won't find any filler on this disk as the boys stay tight and focused throughout. There ARE extended jams, but they never reach the point of mindless noodling. Foghat excelled as a live band, and each of the songs presented here ecipse their studio counterparts. Lonesome Dave's voice soars, Rod Price's guitar solos are tight, the rhythm section is in a groove, and the whole thing just comes together right.

"Foghat:LIVE" is a blistering document of one of the greatest hard rock bands of the 1970's. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you're just now discovering these guys. Listen to it LOUD!.

Foghat Live 1977 Trivia
Procol Harem opened up the show. Actually, the album was recorded at the Dome Arena on May 10th 1977. It took longer than normal for the band to come on stage. I remember the announcer apologized for the delay, but then told the audience that they were setting up to record a live album. The place went crazy.
