I don't think so
Complete rip-off of the original and thats my opinion. Not the original lineup and this lineup, whoever they are, sound like Sh** . if you feel differently Im happy for ya, but this recording sucks and should't be named after FOGHAT. I know Dave wanted the guys to carry on but this ain it.

Savoy Brown Redeaux

I still remember putting the record on my turntable and cranking up my air guitar when I heard the crunching chords of the Muddy Waters remake, I Just Want to Make Love to You. As a devout Savoy Brown fan I had high expectations for Foghat's debut. Rod Price (RIP) never rally got his due in the pantheon of British guitarist, but he was, indeed, a fine slide player.
And the late Lonesome Dave's blues howl, was unlike any other.
This LP was worth the purchase price for the classic, Sarah Lee alone.
Although it probably made many a blues purist cringe, for my money, Foghat's debut was their shining moment.

Special thanks to Todd Rundgren
Headgear for Hairballs. Foghat by Foghat. And that's just the first album--they have at least half a dozen more, one's even Live from 77 and it's so good its only flaw is that it's much too bleeding short. Foghat though, and let's just get this out of the way right here: isn't Foghat just a mighty farking name for a band what actually done what Foghat actually done? Indeed still does coz I just heard the remainder of these dudes live on the radio and they can still crank it out. Not just that either but one time I'm pretty sure I remember watching The Simpsons and a radio talk show host interviewing Rabbi Hyman Krustofski could clearly be seen wearing a Foghat T-shirt!.

Another great (Rock) party album of the mid 70's
For many years I thought that the cover of Muddy Waters' classic "I just Want To Make Love To You" was the original version, and is still my favorite. Foghat by Foghat was another favorite of my friends and got played a lot at parties when I was in High School in the 70's. The other favorite for me on this album was "Trouble Trouble", but I used to play the whole album both sides over and over.

As I am much older after all these years, I don't play as much Rock as I once did in my sound system, but I still pull this CD out of the case from time to time and reminisce on my commute home from work.
.

A great start for a great band...
I begged my Mom for the money to buy this album, and fortunately this time she gave in. Wow! As a young teenager(back in '72) that was my reaction upon hearing "I Just Wanna Make Love To You" for the first time. She probably regretted it later(after hearing it blasting from my room at top volume day after day) but I became a lifelong fan. I found other tracks on it I liked even better--"Sarah Lee"(still one of my favorite Foghat songs of all time), "Highway Killin' Me" and "Gotta Get to Know You". In fact I don't think there's a bad track on this album. I'm a guitar player and Rod Price became one of my heroes(RIP Rod--and Lonesome Dave too). Any true Foghat fan and any lover of high energy rock should check this one out.
