Nice Twist
Tastefully done. Robben puts a different twist on some older standards and plays fresh, interesting guitar with a sweet tone. .

Robben Rocks
His R&B rift is unique. Having grown up in the same town as Robben, I have been a fan of his music for 40 years. This is among my favorite of his many albums. I lifted at least four numbers from this album to add to my favorites collection in my Itunes library.

Disappointing
There is not a single track on it that truly shows what is unique about Robben's approach to blues guitar. I am one huge fan of Robben Ford, but this album to me is just blah. What makes him such a master is the seamless way he blends his jazz influences (primarily according to him Miles Davis and John Coltrane) into a blues guitar style. There is little if any of that on this effort. Yes, I love his tone on this, but the playing is just so ordinary. If I want to hear someone play straight blues guitar, I'll put on BB, Albert, Freddie, Clapton in the Bluesbreakers, or SRV.

Can't stop listening
I can't stop listening to it. I love this CD. The more I listen too it the more I love it. Great guitar licks through out!.

Very Good Album From A Veteran Guitarist.
Half of the "Blue Moon" album employs fake-sounding drum programming, which really had me scratching my head; this album thankfully abandons that approach. This album quite rapidly followed "Blue Moon" and is noticeably better. Ford's musical style is reminiscent of what Clapton has been doing since about 1981. The production is very tight, with much overdubbing. The songs are rooted in the blues, soul, and rock-with overtones of funk. However, it all sounds rather "white" (which is what it is), but it still manages to realistically tackle emotionally poignant ideas. If you like this album you should also enjoy Ford's "Supernatural" and Clapton's "Money and Cigarettes. ".
