Lacking Passion
I have owned the CD for some 20 years and have played it rarely because I was disappointed when I first heard it. As a strong Foreigner fan, I have tried hard to like Inside Information. After reading some of the reviews proclaiming this the best Foreigner album, I decided I needed to reconsider and give it another try. I have listened to it again, only to find my original impression confirmed. It's not the "studio polish" sound that bothers me; no I like the effects of good mixing, etc. Certainly the Foreigner sound is there, and thank goodness Lou Gramm's voice, which no one can ever replace. At first I had trouble pinpointing what bothered me. Now I realize now that it is the lack of passion in the songs that leaves me feeling cold. The hooks are generally weak and missing is the excitement of great songs like "I Want to Know What Love Is" or the raw emotion of "Hot Blooded. " Out of all the songs "Say You Will" is certainly a stand out, and I do like both "Can't Wait" and "Out of the Blue," with "A Night to Remember" a distant fourth. If you are looking for more recent strong Foreigner songs, I recommend the album "The Very Best and Beyond" which not only has their best hits, but three 1992 collaborations between Mick Jones and Lou Gramm, "Soul Doctor," "Prisoner of Love," and "With Heaven on Our Side. " These three recapture the passion of the Foreigner I know and love.

Very underrated...Foreigner's BEST
"Inside Information" is Foreigner's BEST album out of their entire catalogue. Yes, thats right. Sure, there's no MONSTER hits; instead the album trades in epic songs for a SOLID, I repeat, SOLID outing from start to finish. Looking back at Foreigner's earlier efforts ( Self-title debut, Double-Vision, Head games, and 4), I cant help but notice that ALL those albums are ULTIMATELY hit or miss. You hear 3-4 "Instant Classics", followed by 6-7 songs that REALLY miss the mark. If you dont believe me, go listen. "Agent Provocateur" fairs better, and "Inside Information" succeeds on all levels as being an all around "pleasurable" listening experience. First Listen, I was hooked; GREAT songs "Hearts Turn to Stone", "Cant Wait", "Say You Will", "Inside Information",
"Face To Face" "Out of the Blue"
GOOD songs "A Night To Remember", "Counting Every Minute", "Beat of My Heart". Im not a huge fan of "I dont want to Live with out you" but 9/10 aint too shabby.
Stick with the numerous "Greatest Hits" packages for Foreigner, but give "Inside Information" a try; you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Great like the previous albums!!!!
I didn't believe that and buy it. I had read some review about this album, it said that this album is not good. This album is GREAT, the same style of Foreigner, excelent songs and lyrics. I think that you will enjoy it. Note: "I don't want to live without you" is the original version (4:53 minutes). Great song too: "Say You wil, Say you won't", "Inside Information", "Out of The Blue".

foreigner-audio cd for(4)
lou gram is an excellente singer. I like very much all albums from foreigner, but for is the best.

2.5 stars- A pretty mediocre effort, but still is better than the previous studio album
The only song that I like to listen to repeatedly is the song "Say You Will". I haven't owned this cd since about 1988 because it's just not the Foreigner that I came to know and love in the years 1977 to 1981. That song is what Foreigner should sound like. Everything else is boring and mediocre. Unless you're a diehard Foreigner fanatic, you should just pass by INSIDE INFORMATION and just stick with their first four studio albums.
