The Last Foreigner cd

Radio did kill the rock& roll star. This Cd failed for the following reasons
The grunge music scene, And radio
for being knee deep, into the grunge music scene.

I never heard of this cd until 98 I when started to buy cds.

This cd never had a chance in the US, during the grunge movement.
It's really sad too, what it could been to commerical exposer.
this cd & Eddie Money's Love or Money, also suffered the same fate.
no air play. If wasn't for Europe & Japan
back in the middle 90's none! of these groups would have survived.

Grunge music was like a virus, it spread like wildfire
and ruined many of rock music artist carrer.
Now most record companies have nothing show for it.
Just re-releases on top releases with a remaster or no remaster thrown in.

What were the fans looking for?
After Lou Gramm quit Foreigner the band hired a new singer and released an album called Unusual Heat. I will never understand what people want.
It generated very little in the way of commercial and critical attention, and this was blamed primarily on the new singer. People complained that it "just wasn't Foreigner" without Lou Gramm. Well, Lou Gramm returned,
and even though Dennis Elliott and Rick Wills had been replaced, it still sounded like Foreigner to me. I'm speaking of this album, Mr. Moonlight.
The musicianship is top notch, the production sounds good to me, and the song writing was on par with their earlier efforts. And the vocals. . . well, Mr. Gramm was back up front, and he sounds excellent. He lost nothing from his time without Foreigner. So, why the failure of the album? Could it be because they were no longer with a huge company like Atlantic and the distribution and publicity were less than great? Could it be because fans were no longer interested in the band and had moved on? True fans do not move on. They may become disillusioned and frustrated by their band's current output, but they never actually move on. I'm a Jethro Tull fan, I understand. Anyway, why did Mr. Moonlight fail in America? Who knows. All I know is Mr. Moonlight was certainly better, or shall I say, different than Unusual Heat, or even Inside Information. There's more guitar, and less keyboard.
Now Lou Gramm has once again left Foreigner and Mick Jones is the only original member there. Foreigner, as a band, is a survivor, and will probably continue for some years. But they may never make another album as good as Mr. Moonlight. Get it while you can. .

Damn shame!
This is a classic! Standout tracks: "Till the End of Time" and "I Keep Hoping". It is ridiculous that this album didn't receive any exposure. Again, it's a damn shame!.

Lackluster reunion album
You'd think that a reunited Foreigner would also be a reenergized Foreigner, but there's no sign of that on the band's 1995 effort Mr. Much like Journey's short-lived 1996 reunion with vocalist Steve Perry, Lou Gramm's return to Foreigner failed to live up to expectations. Moonlight.

Maybe the guys' hearts just weren't in it, or maybe the grunge-obsessed musical climate at the time was just too hostile to Foreigner's brand of AOR. Whatever the reason, Mr. Moonlight comes across as an uninspired and perfectly forgettable ghost of past Foreigner albums. I can't pin this failure on any individual performance. Lou's vocals are solid and musically everything seems to be working. I guess the songwriting is to blame. There are a couple of bright moments (White Lie and Hand on My Heart) as well as a real head-scratcher (Big Dog), but for the most part this is an album of run of the mill lite rock songs that lack the dynamic quality that made past Foreigner albums, including (hell, especially) the Gramm-less Unusual Heat, so impressive.

It's a shame that this is all we have to close out Foreigner's legacy, but the band opted not to issue another studio album, with or without Lou Gramm. That's even more unfortunate when you consider the fact that their current touring vocalist - Hurricane's Kelly Hansen - is more than talented enough to contribute to a successful Foreigner studio album.

Foreigner - Lou's Return!!
This line up included Lou Gramm, Mick Jones, Bruce Turgon (Lou Gramm, Shadow King) & Jeff Jacobs (Mick Jones, Two Fires). After about a 11 year absence, Lou Gramm finally made it back to Foreigner or what was left of Foreigner. This was a much overlooked CD because of the time it came out (1995). But don't let that fool you, this is a very good solid CD. It has elements of old Foreigner but they were looking at going in a different direction. Standouts are: Under The Gun, Rain, Hole In My Soul & Hand On My Heart. If you can find it cheap, pick it up, you will be surprised.
