Fine Introduction to the Four Tops Naturally main focus is put on their 1960's recordings when they regulars on the upper parts of the charts. This singles collection spans over more than 20 years of the Four Tops' long recording career; from "I Can't Help Myself" 1965 till 1989's "Indestructable".
Like the Supremes the Four Tops were a Tamla Motown act that was relying greatly on the strong songwriting team Holland/Dozier/Holland. "Reach Out" and "I Can't Help Myself" are both examples of this - both singles actually reached the number one spot on the singles charts.
Other stand-outs are their versions of Left Banke's "Walk Away Renee" and Tim Hardin's "If I Were a Carpenter".
Among the more recent recordings both "Loco in Acapulco" and "Indestructable" are great recordings with powerful vocals
The booklet is only a one sheet folder with sparse information, but the music sounds great.
