Frusciante needs to explore the Major keys of life

I love music that sounds authentic and not adjusted. I am not going to go track by track to waste anyones time describing what I thought (think) about The Empyrean other than to give one piece of advice - Do not waste your money on this!!!

This comes from a person who is a big fan of "stripped down" music that does not sound like a polish turd due to the technology of Pro Tools.

I have tried to get into John's music time and time again, however it just sounds like a bunch of kids from Pittsburgh trying to write and record on a Tascam 4 track from 1989.

The album should also come with a suicide warning; or for that matter, razorblades.

If there was some type of money back guarantee, I would be first in line.

fine purchase
the cd's quality was very satisfying, both in artistic and in customer's point of view. . excellent choice, fast delivery, thank you amazon ;).

I wanted to like it
I read lots of reviews of Frusciante's other albums; I heard (I think) that he plays a lot with The Mars Volta, one of my favorites. Really, I did. I assumed that when he sloughed off the Chili Peppers, Frusciante would go wild. Um. . . no. This sounded like re-warmed Chili Peppers music to me--and they lost me about 3 albums ago. I was not excited; not entranced; not even interested.

Total bummer.

john frusciante is amazing
(which is still my favorite song on the album) I've always loved the red hot chili peppers but i had never bought any of john's solo work. I bought this album after i heard unreachable. I mainly bought it because of RHCP. of the two songs i heard, (unreachable and central) i liked them a lot.
When i first listened to the album i was a bit dissapointed by the other material. but as i listened more i liked it more. all the songs are very thought out and meaningful. absolutely no filler. even though i don't quite understand the concept I'm sure it makes sense to mr. Frusciante. all in all great album.

He does it again
It's probably his fullest album yet, combining elements of Curtains, To Record Water, and Shadows. Empyrean is the bomb. Great stuff, and finally. . . . song long songs! .
