Its what a live album should be... The energy and power present in albums like the Ramones "It's Alive", Motorheads "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" and Cheap Tricks "At Budokan" all make me wish I was at one of the shows those albums capture, and if a live album is worth your time, it'll give you that kind of feeling. Anytime I listen to a live album, the main reason for its success is how much it makes me want to actually go and SEE the band live. Like you wish you were at one of the shows it was recorded from.
In that respect "Go For It. . . Live" is a great live album, because it really captures the energy of a good live show and it really really really makes me want to go see an actual Fu Manchu show.
If you're anything like me, you'll play it loud, bang your head, and then go out and buy a Big Muff pedal for your guitar.
Double Live Bongzo!
I'm probably in the minority but I find most of Fu Manchu's records a mixed bag. This is my favorite Fu Manchu album, next to We Must Get Baked. They always have a few killer songs and some that I find pretty dull. Like all great 70's band, the double live album is the real test. People wonder why bands don't do live albums anymore. The answer is simple - bands today cannot play. At best they can recreate their album but cannot add any extra jam value or energy. Go For It has both in spades! Turn it up and spark it up!

Essential Fu Manchu live album
If you dont own a Fu record yet, this is the place to start. Nothing really captures the impact of the band like the real thing. .
Brilliant!
I knew all their songs and had been anticipating this live CD ever since I had heard of it being put out on July 22, 2003. Fu Manchu was the first band I got really into, and that was about 2 or 3 years before this album was released. After waiting for nearly 6 months, I bought it that very day. I was not dissappointed, I was blown out of the water. I can't even describe it, you just have to hear it. Best live act ever. No joke. Fu Manchu will rock you.
Great live album from a great band.
The sound quality is awesome and all the songs are performed to a T. This is a great live album. The songs sound even heavier then the studio recordings because of the live energy that's captured. I was a Fu fan before this album and I was reticent to buy the live album because I didn't want to waste money on songs I already had, but it is worth every penny. .
