Customer Reviews rock and roll is here to stay However, at the time it was considered a risky move. The James Gang made a very pleasant move when they brought in Tommy Bolin. People back in the day didn't give this fantastic guitarist as much attention as they do today, probably because there was so much going on back then in terms of musical innovation, people didn't really have time to notice the unique talent of Tommy Bolin. Nowadays we can look back and admire talent when he hear it. Trust me, the man is quite an accomplished guitarist! "Standing In The Rain" opens this album on a really high, energetic note. It's a really good rock song that packs a nice punch and sets the tone for the rest of the album. "The Devil Is Singing Our Song" has a GREAT guitar riff that dominates the entire song, with soulful vocals in between. To me, this is the kind of song that NEVER gets old. "Must Be Love" is just a great rock song that sounds like the Doobie Brothers a little bit, and never gets boring either. You simply can't get tired of this kind of short and simple rock music because nothing else sounds like it. It's completely unique to the 70's decade of influential rock musicians. "Got No Time For Trouble" is just a perfect rock song. My personal favorite song from the album is "From Another Time" which seems to reveal a certain atmosphere that is completely special to the guitarist Tommy Bolin. I can't believe he's no longer with us, even though he died so many years ago. He had a lot more to give to the music world, and it's unfortunate he had to leave us so soon. "Mystery" is totally awesome. It shifts gears somewhere past the halfway point and features a cool guitar riff and what I believe is violin soloing taking place. I can't believe this song isn't considered a forgotten treasure from more people. It's brilliant. Overall, a fantastic album for people who adore Deep Purple's Come Taste The Band. The funky, simple rock and roll style with lots of guitar soloing of the James Gang and Deep Purple is rock at its very best. .
not a James Gang fan but....
