Customer Reviews Stays true to the pattern of James Bond themes A pattern has occured that holds true for most of the themes that accompany the opening credits: every OTHER theme tends to be stronger than the one that preceded it. Ever since the first Sean Connery/Bond film debuted in 1962, the music, particularly the theme, has been an integral part of the Bond mystique. The same holds true for Garbage's effort for the film of the same name, a superior tune to both its forerunner ("Tomorrow Never Dies" and its successor ("Die Another Day"). The composition, though composed by David Arnold, features a structure that is similar to those done by favorite Bond composer John Barry: ear-catching opening, simple but seductive lyrics, and a great delivery from the solo vocalist (Shirley Manson). The tune ranks up there with "Goldfinger," "You Only Live Twice," "Diamonds Are Forever," "Nobody Does It Better," "For Your Eyes Only," "Licence to Kill," and "Goldeneye" as the best of the Bond themes.
Shirley rules Bond
